Veteran singer and actor Charles Oputa, professionally known as Charly Boy, has shared a near-death experience while battling prostate cancer.

In a post sighted on his page, Charly Boy disclosed that he has been battling with sickness which almost took his life a few days ago. He shared a video of himself being wheeled out of the theater as he announced that he is being discharged and thanked God for another chance at life. He wrote; “Today I am being discharged from the hospital. In my life, I am happy doing this video. I have fought so many battles. And I have won so many battles. But for the past ten days, I have been battling with something very huge. “But as God would have it, he saved my life and I beat that sucker. I have been fighting my prostrate issues. It’s not a small thing. Not as you are seeing me shining. You will see videos and know I came from the jaws of death. That thing that has killed many people did not kill me.” He said. Charly Boy expressed gratitude to his family for being with him and also thanked the doctors for their proper treatment. “I want to thank God for sparing my life. I want to thank my cousins who gave me great support and love. You guys are the best. I want to thank my friends and well-wishers for standing by me. This is the biggest fight ever that I have had in my life. “Above all, I want to thank the doctor who saw to it. He did a fantastic job. His name is Kingsley Ekwueme. He was the doctor who took care of me and who saw my problem. I want to thank you. You are a great guy. “As you can see I didn’t travel to London or America. I had my treatment in Nigeria. I am back. Charly Boy no dey finish na. I am not going anywhere soon.” He added.

Lagos police confirms death of Yul and May Edochie’s son; starts investigation

The Lagos police have confirmed the death of the first son of May and Yul Edochie, Kamibilichukwu as they launch an investigation.

Reports came in yesterday that the first son of the actor Yul Edochie and his wife May have lost their son after he collapsed when playing football with his friends on the pitch. Reports say he suffered a seizure and was rushed to the hospital. The spokesperson for the police in the state, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said Yul Edochie reported the death of his son to the command. According to the PPRO, the issue will be forwarded to the State Criminal Investigation Department on Friday, March 31, for investigation.

Controversial Nollywood actress, Esther Nwachukwu has roundly chastised May Edochie for how she had treated her husband, Yul, after he took a second wife.

Recall that May Edochie and her husband allegedly lost their first son on Thursday, March 30th. Esther berated how she had taken the opportunity that was presented after Yul made a ‘mistake’ as though she had waited all her life for him to slip up.

In Esther’s opinion, May should have focused on remaining in her home and building it rather than going about playing at being an influencer and brand ambassador. She wrote: “Don’t marry a woman who is unforgiving. Don’t marry a woman who’ll make the world to hate you. Marriage is for better no matter what as long as there is no domestic violence abuse mourn to forgive her husband. Don’t marry a woman who has the spirit of unforgiving. There was no domestic abuse nothing of such. Just cos he married a second wife. Yes it’s heart breaking and yes it’s disrespectful. What happened to the oath? What happened to for better for worse? What happened to forgiveness? You used the opportunity as if you waited patiently for him to make the mistake then u kuku strong ur heart and refused to forgive. Nollywood actress Destiny Etiko has dragged Nigerians who are trolling and accusing Yul Edochie for his son’s death.

The family of the Edochie are currently mourning after the first son of actor Yul Edochie, Kambilichukwu reportedly died this morning. According to reports, the young boy joined his friends on the football pitch to play a few minutes after his examination was over. But he suffered a seizure and fell unconcious. However, upon reachingthe hospital, he was declared dead. Social media users woke up to the sad news of the demise of the first son of actor Yul Edochie and his wife, May Edochie. Man sentenced to death for killing his 89-year-old boss 24hrs after gaining employment

A young man identified as Joseph Ogbu has been sentenced to death for killing his 89-year-old boss 24 hours after gaining employment.

The Ikeja High Court sat on the case of the young man and sentenced him to death by hanging after he was found guilty of killing his 89-year-old employer, Ajoke John, and her daughter, Oreoluwa John who was also 38 years. The accused was said to have been the domestic worker for the two employers whom he brutally murdered on the 19th of June, 2019 n their residence in Surulere. Justice Modupe Nicole-Clay found the accused guilty of a three-count charge bordering on armed robbery and murder. “He killed Adejoke by strangling her and Oreoluwa by stabbing her to death. As the defense did not raise an objection to the admissibility of the confessional statement, there is no doubt that the defendant confessed to the crimes. I have considered the evidence of the security guard, an Okada man, one Yahya Ibrahim, the house help, and a police Inspector.” “The defendant could not explain what he was doing with all the stolen items he was found with at about 2:00 a.m. on the date he was arrested.” “The court is satisfied with the total evidence to establish the guilt of the defendant. This court has found Joseph Ogbu guilty of these heinous crimes, and you are hereby sentenced to death by hanging. May God have mercy on your soul,” Justice Modupe Nicole-Clay added.

Nigerian man jumps off building in India following report of parents' death in accident

A 37-year-old Nigerian man based in India, Ndinojuo, attempted to end his life after receiving the tragic news of his parents’ death in a car accident.

According to a statement released by Delhi Police on March 26, 2023, the incident occurred on March 18, 2023, when Ndinojuo jumped from the second floor of a building in Nihal Vihar, outer Delhi. He was subsequently hospitalized and is said to be recovering. The police received a PCR call about the incident and upon arriving at the scene, found Ndinojuo injured and seeking assistance from bystanders. In his statement to the police, Ndinojuo revealed that he had been struggling with depression and that the news of his parents’ passing had caused him distress, leading to his attempted suicide. Neighbours were questioned and no foul play was suspected during the investigation.

Club owner and brother beat bartender to death over claims of stealing

The owner of Club 183, alongside his brother, has been accused of beating a bartender to death over allegations of stealing a DJ mixer.

Don-V who runs the club along the Okota area of Lagos State reportedly accused his bartender, Destiny of stealing a piece of equipment after which he involved military men. In a video making rounds on social media, Destiny was seen tied and flogged intensely by military officers while pleading for his life. An eyewitness claimed that at some point, the accused Destiny collapsed and fell into a coma before taking his last breath.

Hospital releases statement following death of 20-year-old lady

Lagos-based hospital, Cynosure Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Clinics reacts to the allegations of negligence following the death of a 20-year-old lady.

This comes following the death of a teenager who tried to get butt-enlargement surgery which marked the end of her life. The hospital, however, clarified the misinformation that the 20-year-old lady died on their premises due to negligence. The statement reads; “Good day everyone. On the March 14, 2023, we made a press release regarding the current issue making rounds on social media. We, once again, deeply commiserate with the family of the deceased. It has become necessary to clear the air on some misinformation and wrong assumptions. We are aware that it is reasonable to speculate that fat embolism was the most likely cause of her sudden onset of breathlessness. However, we wish to state the following:
“A CT Pulmonary Angiogram (CPA) was conducted the same day the client arrived at the ICU and the result showed there was NO PULMONARY EMBOLISM. By the way, a CPA is the gold standard for diagnosing PULMONARY EMBOLISM (whether for fat, blood clot or air embolism). “Till date, we have no records of pulmonary embolism of any kind, to the glory of God, despite the number of surgeries done so far. The deceased was the third client to ever be referred to an ICU with the previous two, being successfully managed at the same reputable ICU Hospital which is within 10 mins drive from our facility. “Samples have been sent for COVID-19 testing on account of her recent travel history, as well as some features seen on the CTPA. We enjoin the general public to show more respect to the family of the deceased and refrain from sharing the extremely sensitive videos which have been released by her ‘friends’ for reasons best known to them.”
