According to her, she’s been trying unsuccessfully to resign from the Police since last year but all her letters have never been approved. She revealed that following a recent meeting with her superior on May 24th, she had been detained. Her account reads: “I never saw this coming. I have never thought I’ll be put in detention without interrogation. All I did was try to resign. I have been trying to resign from the Police since last year but my letters were not approved. My boss had called me to show up yesterday 24th of may to meet the Deputy commissioner for an interview. I thought they were finally going to approve my resignation but the only words I heard was that I should be detained to be tried and dismissed. Due to the shock, I couldn’t say anything as the officer led me away. Later, I heard that I should have begged and cried but my lack of reaction worsened the matter. I cried a river after it all dawned on me. I have not taken my clothes and shoes off since yesterday. I can’t even change my sanitary pad. My migraine is throbbing at full speed and my head is about to Explode from exhaustion. My mother has called that she has been advised to come and plead that i will continue working. I have been working for 6 years and I think it is fair to let someone go and aid them to leave if they do not want to stay anymore.

I have been very easygoing since i was born, this is my first time in this kind of situation. I have always worked in the administrative department, in fact, the religious department of the Nigeria Police. I believe in pursuing everything with passion, i always remove myself whenever I think i am no longer giving full attention to a job or career. I don’t know how long I’ll be here for but I really need to sleep. If the women at the provost office had not given me some Paracetamol yesterday afternoon, I may not have survived until now. I don’t know how long I will be here for but I’ll appreciate a blanket with sanitary pad. The cold is about to snuff my life out. As I sit here through the night and the mosquitos hum in my ears. I keep talking to them to ask them why someone who could have stamped my letter and put me through on what to do will have me held down and humiliated instead. I can’t imagine what my mother will be going through now to hear that her daughter is being detained and she has to come to Ikeja to plead on her behalf. My mother has never had to worry over me before and she has to do it without my dad. I wonder what my dad would have thought if he were alive. He was such a calm person. He always knew what to say. I really want to go home. I don’t know who will read this. My phone will die soon. This is a cry for help. I want to go home. Find me please Fauzziyah Ebunoluwa Isiak.” I never saw this coming. Peter Obi alledgedly detained by Immigration in UK

Peter Obi alledgedly detained by Immigration in UK

UK immigration officials allegedly detained Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the recent general elections, for hours and interrogated him upon his arrival in London‘s Heathrow Airport.

Peter Obi

Obi confided in Professor Chinyere Okunna, who worked with him as commissioner for information, commissioner for economic planning, and coordinating commissioner for development partners, expressing his frustration and pain about his ordeal and others meant to drive him out of Nigeria. Immigration officials claimed that someone was impersonating Obi in the country, raising concerns about potential criminal activities and framing. Okunna said: “I suppose he told me all this confidentially. My very sincere apologies, Your Excellency, for ‘breaking’ this confidentiality, but History beckons and I CANNOT KEEP QUIET. “Obi spoke to me at the Official Opening of the Specialist Hospital of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) Sisters, Nkpor (on Tuesday). He had arrived at the event after flying in from London. “I actually had no idea he had travelled out of the country, until the ovation over his presence in a London Church went viral on the Internet. “He arrived at Heathrow Airport and joined the usual queue to pass through Immigration, and that was when his ordeal began. “He was stopped and questioned for a long time and subsequently handed a detention note and told to wait for further interrogation and investigation. “This was terribly unusual for a man who had lived honourably in the UK for a long time. “In the face of this harassment, some well-meaning Nigerians, knowing who he is, raised their voices in protest, demanding to know why he was being treated that way.” “The shocking revelation by the Immigration Officer was that his (Obi’s) identity ‘was duplicated’. This revelation has definitely set off alarm bells. “For people who are knowledgeable about such matters, this is a very dangerous development because the implication is that someone is impersonating Peter Obi. “And that someone could implicate Obi in all manner of dubious and even criminal activities, and rope him into any number of offences; he could get Obi framed for one criminal act or another. The frightening scenario of what can happen is unimaginable!!! “This is the height of it all for a man who has been under sundry intimidation and emotional torture: Bugging of his phone and those of his wife and children; keeping him constantly under surveillance; calling him names; putting him under severe pressure to leave (run away from) the country; wrongly accusing him of negative things he knows absolutely nothing about, etc. “As he was telling me his ‘Heathrow tale of woe’ at Nkpor today, I could see a man who was in severe pain and under unbearable stress, who many would expect to be at the point of despair. “But, as he confirmed, he is ready to suffer this pain and is as determined as ever to pursue the path which he has chosen to enable him arrive at the destination which well-meaning people in Nigeria and far far beyond are expecting him to arrive at.”
