A video making rounds on social media captured the emotional response of a lady who lambasted hotel staff for allowing the arrest of a guest. The operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC had swarmed the premises to pick up a suspect whom they had credible intel on. The embattled lady, however, condemned the hotel management for doing nothing to stop the arrest of their client who paid to pass the night on their premises. Watch the video below …

EFCC arraigns Kogi Governor's nephew over N10 billion fraud

Aliyu Bello, a nephew to Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has been remanded in prison by a Federal High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja, over alleged N10.2 billion fraud.

He was arraigned alongside one Dauda Sulaiman and one Abdulsalami Hudu of the Kogi State House Administration by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
They were arraigned on a 10-count charge of misappropriation and money laundering, EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, said in a statement on Thursday, December 15.

The statement read:
“Bello and Sulaiman are accused of fraudulently withdrawing a sum of N10,270,556,800 (Ten Billion, Two Hundred and Seventy Million, Five Hundred and Fifty-six Thousand Eight Hundred Naira), from the Kogi State treasury which they delivered to a Bureau de Change operator, Rabiu Tafada, in Abuja to keep or change to foreign currencies for personal gains,” 
They have both been remanded in prison by Justice James Kolawole Omotosho pending the fulfillment of their bail conditions.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC’s warning to landlords has reportedly caused reactions against internet fraudsters, popularly known as yahoo boys, in the country.
The antigraft agency had declared that landlords risk spending 15 years in jail for renting their houses to yahoo boys.

Barely a day after the annoucement, a young man was reportedly sent packing out of his apartment by his landlord.
A video which surfaced on social media shows the embattled young man hanging on a truck which was transporting his belongings.
It was learnt that his landlord who suspected the source of his income sent him packing due to fear.

Meanwhile, The EfCC had also announced a scheduled seminar where the matter which has received huge backlash would be debated.

Nigerian cryptocurrency trader, Linus Williams, popularly known as B Lord, has appreciated his barrister’s wife with a car gift as the celebration of their victory against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), continues.
Recall that the Bitcoin trader was arrested in Awka, Anambra state, in August 2020, and wss wrongly paraded with 14 other suspects.

Thus, he dragged the anti-graft agency to the Enugu State Federal High Court.
On May 7, 2022, the Bitcoin trader announced his victory and recovered three of his cars which were impounded by the EFCC.
To thank his lawyer for making him win the case, he bought a brand new Toyota for the man’s wife and shared a video of him presenting the car to her.
He wrote; ”Just Gifted My Barrister’s Wife A New Car , Just Being Grateful @sniperkc , Na Barrister wey win case dem dey gift car.”

Celebrity barman and socialite, Pascal Chibuike Okechukwu better known as Cubana Chief Priest has broken his silence following his release from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.


The socialite has regained freedom after being quizzed by the EFCC over alleged tax fraud and money laundering.
His arrest made him unable to reply birthday wishes which kept flowing in on Saturday.
After his release, he took to his Instagram page to demand his birthday wishes as he wrote that he’s been ‘Tested okay’ by the agency.
In his words:

Davido disclosed via his Instagram story that his best friend is free.
Cubana Chief Priest was arrested for alleged money laundering and tax fraud. He was whisked at the Lagos airport on Thursday last week.
The anti-graft agency confirmed his arrest, but refused to give details.

Speaking after his release, the celebrity barman took to his Instagram, saying he has been tested okay by the EFCC.
He wrote;
“EFCC tested Ok,Thank You family, I will never forget. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, make Una resend all my birthday wishes.”
Reacting, Davido, took to his Instagram, he wrote: “My bestie is free!! @cubana_chiefpriest.”
