A female Corps member was captured delivering a neck-twisting slap to a male student who approached her within the school premises and expressed his romantic feelings towards her. The incident occurred within the vicinity of an undisclosed school, where the female corps member was serving her mandatory NYSC assignment. In the video, the male student, donned in his school uniform, can be seen approaching the corper with an apparent intention to express his affection for her. However, the young man’s advances appeared to have caught the corps member off guard, and she responded with visible perplexity at his audacity to “toast” her (a colloquial term for expressing romantic interest). A 17-year-old female student of Osun State University, Victory Ehiremen, and her boyfriend, Ayobami Ariyo, were paraded for allegedly luring a man from Lagos to Osun through social media and robbing him of N1.5m. According to the Commissioner of Police, Kehinde Longe, the incident unfolded when Victory met the complainant on a social media platform a few days before the robbery. After exchanging messages, she invited him to her location in Ikire. However, upon arrival, Victory led the victim to her boyfriend’s house, where he was attacked by a group of individuals who subsequently transferred N1.5 million from his bank account. The swift response of the police to the case led to the arrest of Ayobami Ariyo from his hideout. Further investigation led to the apprehension of two other accomplices. The police are actively pursuing the arrest of other individuals involved in the crime. During questioning by journalists, Victory claimed that she was unaware of her boyfriend’s intention to forcefully obtain money from the victim. She expressed her distress when Ayobami and his friend began assaulting the complainant after barging into the room where she was with him. Additionally, she revealed that her boyfriend, who she accused of being involved in internet fraud, gifted her N40,000 two days after the incident.

Accompanied by university officials, the Vice-Chancellor questioned the student’s choice of attire, expressing curiosity about her level of comfort in what he perceived as an indecent outfit. Despite the student’s plea for a reconsideration of his decision, the Vice-Chancellor stood firm in his stance, declaring that the university should not tolerate students who dress immorally. The student defended herself by stating that she was not exposing herself and felt comfortable in her chosen attire. However, instead of engaging in a constructive dialogue, the Vice-Chancellor’s response was confrontational. He instructed the officials to collect the student’s matriculation number and other personal details, signaling his intention to dismiss her from UNIPORT.
