Veteran actor John Okafor also known as Mr. Ibu has recounted how he almost died after suffering from a serious illness. Mr. Ibu has recounted how he was battling a life-threatening illness for three years which took him off the screens and away from his social life. Speaking in an interview with Vanguard, he disclosed that the orchestrators of his illness were people closer to him. According to him, he was already “seeing people on the other side” but God brought him back to life. Mr Ibu said; “My illness was actually perpetrated by people that hate me. They did what they did to me. Later, I was taken to the hospital. The doctors are prophets. So, they went into my system and they told me what was wrong and what they are going to do. I said ‘Whatever you are going to do, please, do it, let me live because if I die like this the enemies will laugh’. And then the doctors said ‘Okay, there’s no problem’. “At the time, I didn’t know what happened. I left! So, whatever I was saying they recorded it. I was saying something like somebody who is going mad. I wasn’t actually seeing anybody. But on the other side where I was at that time, I was seeing some dead people.. God brought me back.”
I told God to make me run mad if I hit my wife
Nollywood actor Junior Pope has shared a vow he made with God and the consequences that should follow if ever he hit his wife, Jennifer Awele.
This disclosure comes after Junior Pope was questioned on some marital challenges and lessons he has learned in the many years of his marriage with his wife. Speaking in an interview with The Punch, he disclosed that their marriage wasn’t rosy in the first year. He recounted how he borrowed his wife’s gold jewelry to borrow money from an aboki. He said; “Back then it seemed like it wasn’t working, it was not easy at all. I have not mentioned it before but to the glory of God, today let me share this. After I got married, the first year was not rosy; I collected my wife’s gold jewelry and used it to borrow money from aboki. So, I give Him the glory for giving me a patient wife. “Why would I want to touch a woman like this? God forbid. One thing I told myself and God is that the day I lay my hands on my wife, let me run mad. Instead, I walk away”, he answered after being asked if he has gone to the limit of hitting his wife.
While explaining how he combines fame with being a family man, Junior Pope said; “My dad taught me all even though he didn’t spare the rod to spoil me. I grew up with a disciplinarian, so you need to pick from all areas and add up. So, the part I didn’t see in my dad is what I am giving to my children and that is the playful part. This is how I try to balance the equation. As a celebrity, you must know where you are coming from. Once you let this celebrity thing get into your head, then you are heading for a fall. Imagine as big as Mercy Johnson is, and the way she is so humble to her husband, why will their home have a problem?
“They took the glory meant for God and gave it to a human“ — Rev. Mbaka on outcome of presidential elections
Rev. Fr Ejike Mbaka, a Nigerian Catholic priest popularly known as Father Mbaka, has expressed his thoughts about the Nigerian presidential elections.
According to him, the glory that was meant for God was given to the Labour Party by Nigerians during the elections. He went on to explain that people even referred to the father, mother, and child in the Labour Party logo as “God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit”, which he believes is a form of blasphemy. Father Mbaka expressed his disappointment that Nigerians chose to give glory to a human instead of God, which he believes has brought the anger of God upon the country.
“They took the glory meant for God and gave to a human, so the anger of God befell us,” Mbaka told his members. He further knelt at the altar to ask for God’s forgiveness and urged his members to interpret his message as they deem fit. Watch the video below:
