The Ligue 1 match between Marseille and Lyon on Sunday was called off after a chaotic incident that led to the attack on Lyon’s team bus. The incident left head coach Fabio Grosso and his assistant Raffaele Longo, seriously injured in the face. The bus was visibly damaged, with shattered windows, and Grosso was seen being led into the stadium, his face bloodied and his hands covering the injuries.

Coach Fabio Grosso and his assistant Raffaele Longo were directly hit and seriously injured in the face during this attack.” Following the injuries and the club’s decision not to proceed with the match, the referee, Francois Letexier, confirmed the game’s cancelation. About 65,000 fans from both teams were already at the stadium for the match, but were disappointed to learn of the cancelation. Meanwhile, Marseille issued a statement condemning the violent attack and expressed well wishes for Grosso’s recovery. French football’s governing body, the Ligue de Football Professionnel, are expected to now determine new date for the match.

According to the video footage, which quickly went viral on social media, the police van can be seen in pursuit of a vehicle on a busy street. In the heat of the chase, the police van collided with a parked car owned by a customer who had brought it to the mechanic’s workshop for repairs. Eyewitnesses reported that the confusion arose when the police mistook the mechanic, who was test-driving the customer’s vehicle, for a suspect involved in fraudulent activities. The police, believing they were pursuing a criminal, engaged in a high-speed chase that resulted in the collision with the innocent customer’s car.

Famous Afropop musician, Asake has reached out to those who got injured at his London concert last night following a commotion after the show was cancelled.
Recall that the show organizers had cut the concert short, announcing there had been a security breach, while adding that the police had requested they shut down the show.

A pandemonium had followed which caused some injuries, while others lamented their dissatisfaction.
Asake has apologized to aggrieved fans and those who had sustained injury in the commotion. He prayed for their quick recovery, adding that he doesn’t have a full account from the managers as to what had led to the disruption.
He wrote:
“My heart is with those who were injured last night and caused any form of discomfort. I pray you get well soonest. I am also in the process of reaching out to individuals. I still do not have the full brief from the venue management themselves as to what led to the disruption at the entrance of The Brixton Academy, but we are thankful that all was peaceful at the end.
