“Her relative is battling cancer” – Iyanya reveals why he went on date with lady from Davido’s concert

Nigerian musician, Iyanya has clarified that he has no intention of taking the young lady he was linked with after Davido’s Timeless concert away from her boyfriend. It can be recalled that Iyanya went on a lunch date and boat cruise with Florence, a lady who was admiring him during his performance at the concert.

However, he received negative comments from social media users who criticized him for not considering how Florence’s boyfriend would feel seeing them together. On Tuesday, May 2nd, Iyanya decided to set the record straight and explain why he went on the date with Florence.

He revealed in a Twitter thread that Florence was depressed because one of her close relatives was battling cancer, and he only wanted to put a smile on her face.

He shared photos and emphasized that he only met her on the boat, and there was no ulterior motive. He explained how he sighted Florence at Davido‘s Timeless concert, and after tweeting about her beautiful smile, she reached out to him. When he learned about her situation, he felt that it would be nice to give her a treat in Lagos. Therefore, he had his team contact her and make plans for her to come to Lagos so he could help make her happy. He said;
“You all remember how it started 2 Sundays ago when I sighted an amazing girl at Davido’s Timeless concert. She was eyeing me throughout my performance , I couldn’t forget her beautiful smile and I tweeted about it. “Luckily, Florence reached out, I tweeted her picture and I asked my team to reach out to her, while her conversation went on with the team, we found out she has been depressed and only came for the Davido concert as a way to make herself happy and my team asked why she was depressed and she told us one of her close relatives had been battling cancer, when I was informed I felt like it will be nice to give her a treat in lagos. “I had my team contact her and make plans for her to come to Lagos so I can help put a smile on her face. Life is too short not to spread kindness 💙 “Florence got to Lagos on Saturday and my team made sure she had the best time here. We got her accommodation… LV perfume , Boat cruise, iPhone 📱 few other things to make her feel special. She deserves it! “When Florence arrived lagos on Saturday I wqs ant in lagos, I had events in calabar and PH respectfully , when came back Monday afternoon. I headed to Sliver Jetty and spent the afternoon with Florence on a boat cruise. She’s amazing guys. The famous singer, Iyanya sets tongues wagging as he steps out on a date with the lady that caught his eyes at the Davido’s Timeless concert. It would be recalled that some days ago, the singer performed in Lagos after which he declared the hunt for a lady that he had a keen interest in.

A video of the lady whom Iyanya lusted over at Davido’s concert, dancing with her boyfriend has surfaced on social media. Recall, NigezieXtreme, earlier reported how Iyanya launched a search for a girl who caught his attention at Davido’s Timeless concert.

“One fineeee girl been Dey eye me yesterday @davido Timeless Concert. I had to focus on the job, so this morning I come remember if you are that fine girl report yourself now under this tweet, you wanted to confused me ha”, he wrote.

Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter, Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk, professionally known as Iyanya, recently made a startling revelation about the cost of creating and promoting a song in Nigeria. Specifically, he disclosed via his Twitter account that he spent a staggering sum of N52 million on a collaborative track he recorded with two other music stars, Davido and Kizz Daniel, titled ‘Like’.

This amount covered not only the recording of the song but also the production of its music video and the promotion activities carried out both before and after its release. In his tweet, Iyanya expressed shock at the exorbitant cost of promoting songs in Nigeria, which has become a common trend in the music industry.

He further revealed that the least amount he has ever spent on a song was N27 million, and this occurred in January 2021. Despite the costs he incurred, Iyanya advised upcoming artists not to be discouraged by his revelation. Instead, he encouraged them to remain focused and consistent in their musical pursuits.

Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk, popularly known as Iyanya, has revealed his desire to be best friends with two of his colleagues. The musician engaged in a poll where he had to choose between two options.

In a poll, the musician was confronted with a list of options, and he was asked to select between Ayra Starr and Tems. However, he encountered difficulty in making a decision, and after much deliberation, he ultimately decided to choose both artists. At the beginning of the poll, Iyanya was presented with a choice between a woman’s backside and front, and without hesitation, he opted for the latter option.

Later on, when asked to pick between Tems and Ayra Starr and determine which one he would like to be his best friend, Iyanya responded by saying that he would like to have both of them as his friends. Iyanya was also given the option to choose between Jollof rice and Fried rice. However, he surprised everyone by opting for Ofada, a local delicacy.

Delta State Police Command’s spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe, has reacted to the controversy that trailed a viral video of singer, Iyanya, pushing a fan off stage while performing his hit song ‘One Side’, in Awka, Anambra state.

Iyanya shared his account of what happened after the video led to divided opinions. According to the singer, he was provoked by the fan who kept slapping his face with money. He tweeted; “The guy kept slapping my face with the money and I tried to hold his hand and he continued. Notable singer, Iyanya, stirs mixed reactions after pushing a fan off the stage during a show in Awka, Anambra State.

A video making rounds on social media captured the moment the singer cautioned the fan spraying him money. Iyanya, however, pushed him off the stage for persistently slapping his face with it. Taking to Twitter to address the circumstance, the singer stated that it was uncomfortable for him but the fan refused to act accordingly.
