Everton could face further nine-point deduction if Burnley, Leicester, Leeds are successful with their £300m compensation claim. Everton’s prospective buyers 777Partners had committed to providing £20 million per month to support the club’s running costs during the Premier League’s assessment of their takeover bid. However, they may not be willing to cover a compensation cost reaching tens of millions of pounds. The deal between Farhad Moshiri and 777 in September includes clauses reducing the sale price significantly if Everton is instructed to pay compensation or faces relegation. 
Everton could face further nine-point deduction – Getty image Their current financial constraints mean Everton could struggle to settle the huge compensation bill, and could result to an automatic nine-point reduction, a scenario said to have introduced by the Premier League in 2004. According to Mail Sports, the compensation claim initiated by Burnley, Leicester and Leeds, could amount to £100 million each, based on the loss of Premier League income during seasons when Everton overspent. If Everton fails to address these challenges, it could become the third club in Premier League history to suffer points deductions. They will follow Middlesbrough, who suffered such fate in 1997 and Portsmouth in 2010. Both teams were also subsequently relegated.

The Red Devils are in the market for a new striker and have reportedly listed Kane as their favoured candidate heading into the summer window. Making his 320th Premier League appearance today, May 28, Kane has raced to 213 goals. He also has 46 assists. In the 2022-23 season, Kane finished as the second-highest scorer in the league with 30 goals. Only, Erling Haaland (36) managed to score more.

Leicester and Leeds join Southampton in the drop to the EFL championship. Southampton finished last in the Premier League and were relegated weeks ago. 
Leeds United coach Sam Allardyce has lashed out at his players for giving out two penalties to Newcastle during a match today, May 13. Leeds United made a flying start when Luke Ayling hammered in the rebound from close range after Nick Pope parried Rodrigo’s powerful header in the 7th minute. 
The hosts had a chance to make it two in the 28th minute, but Patrick Bamford’s spot kick was well saved by Pope. It proved to be a key moment as Newcastle responded to the let-off with a penalty of their own under three and a half minutes later, and Wilson made no mistake with his low strike to level matters. The England forward then turned the match on its head in the 69th minute when he once again kept his nerve from the spot to snare his 10th goal in his last nine matches and his 17th Premier League goal of the campaign. 
Though the draw pushed Leeds United above Leicester to the 18th spot, they however remain in the relegation zone, a point adrift of Everton having played a game more. The outcome of the match left Allardyce frustrated as he accused his players of not listening to his instruction. He promised to “tell them off”. Allardyce said; “We have to stop giving penalties away. We gave one away last week as well. I’ve been talking about staying on your feet all week. I don’t like it when they ignore me. They’ll get told off next week, believe me.”
