Watch the video below: This is coming shortly after the Anambra State Commissioner of Education, Prof Chuma-Udeh suggested that the young lady’s behaviour may be attributed to a psychological issue, stating that individuals occasionally act in extreme and inexplicable ways, and it is not always a result of parental negligence. She said: “The human mind is full of complexities, and this is one of those cases of being a human being. I think it’s a psychological issue. “Sometimes, people tend to behave ultra-viciously, and it’s not a result of poor parental training. Because when we asked her, she couldn’t provide a valid reason for her action.”

The Anambra State Government carried out an investigation into the matter and found that Mmesoma had manipulated her UTME scores. Consequently, JAMB has banned her from taking UTME for three years and withdrawn her result. This is coming shortly after an eye witness at Mmesoma Ejikeme‘s JAMB exam hall shared his experience with the embattled student on exam day. According to Ilumina Light, the student’s computer had a glitch and the examiners had to intervene before she could continue. He further noted that despite that, she was still able to score above 200. He appealed to Nigerians not to demean her brilliance.

MMESOMA actually scored 249, a high score that can gain admission easily. It doesn’t stop there. During the CBT, her system developed glitches that took examiners quite some time to resolve before she continued, to finish same time with others. “To have scored that high despite probably not finishing, alongside the disorientation, is remarkable. Even more, she has reportedly being carrying first from primary to secondary school. “This is a girl too passionate about, not just studying, but excelling. She has a mentality for perfection and gives her all to get it – therein was the danger by the devil, and a lesson to us all, in the manner we seek anything in life. Avoid desperation. “Watch her interviews, and see the confidence oozing out, though her intellect was masterfully deployed to hide the truth, but then, if we condemn this little girl, we should equally take our minds back, to all those hurriedly sworn Affidavits from fully knowledgeable adults, scattered in billions of papers across the Country. “This young girl is filled with a rare brilliance we should harness for the growth of our society. We should not dim the great lights we have, else we eventually end with darkness and won’t find our way nomore. “As for MMESOMA, I have no doubt that God shall live up to his word and make her imperfection on this matter perfect unto his cause for her life.” See the post below:

Mmesoma Ejikeme, a student of Anglican Girls Secondary School in Nnewi, Anambra State, has explained how she got her impressive score of 362 in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Ejikeme denied the allegations made by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) that she manually manipulated her UTME result to win a N3 million scholarship from Innoson Motors. Ejikeme revealed that she did not visit any computer centre to check her UTME result, but instead accessed it on the JAMB portal after the exams earlier this year. She spoke on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily via telephone on Wednesday, July 5, refuting the claims made by JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin on Sunday, July 2. The 19-year-old student stated in an interview: “You have to register on the JAMB portal with your email address and number; I went to [the] JAMB portal. On that JAMB portal, I tried to get my result; they redirected me to another server.” “That’s where I entered my reg number, and when I checked the result, that was what I got there and downloaded it. I didn’t go to any computer centre.” When asked if she was the only one who printed the outdated UTME result sheet, she said she had not seen anyone with a similar copy. Ejikeme said; “You know phones now, if you want to check, you have the reg number. That’s the main thing you use in downloading your [results]. It’s not the hard copy that I’m talking of.” Romanus Ejikeme, Mmesoma’s father, also confirmed that he did not accompany his daughter to any business or computer centre to print out her UTME result.

"Stay punitive action against Mmesoma Ejikeme" ― Reps charge JAMB

The House of Representatives has urged the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to stay any punitive actions against Miss Joy Mmesoma Ejikeme over alleged falsification of her JAMB score. This followed the adoption of a motion by Rep. Awaji-Inombek Abiante (PDP-Bayelsa) at plenary in Abuja on Wednesday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that Ejikeme had claimed to have scored 362 as against 249 which the board recorded as her score in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) through JAMB. He said Ejikeme, a student of Anglican Girls Secondary School, Nnewi, Anambra, sat for the 2023 UTME and claimed to have scored 362. Abiante said on July 2, JAMB Head of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin n a statement, accused Ejikeme of manipulating her UTME score from 249 to 362 . He said Ejikeme came out to defend herself, that she actually printed the result from the JAMB website and had been a brilliant child all through her nursery and secondary education. He said Mmesoma came first in all the examinations she had been taking before the UTME, hence she posited that she was not capable of manipulating her UTME result. According to him, cognisant of the fact that uploading or downloading result of examinations or polls electronically, in Nigeria, glitches can occur at any time, hence the need to establish the facts before any blames. He said Benjamin had earlier alleged that some of the 2023 UTME candidates were parading fake scores in order to get undue advantage from the public, hence the need to investigate the allegation. The house, therefore, set up an ad hoc committee to investigate the alleged manipulation of Ejikeme’s UTME results and report back within one week for further legislative action.
