CSP Adejobi, the spokesperson of the Nigerian police force, has responded to a video that has been circulating online, depicting police officers assaulting a man in Port Harcourt.

The video shows a police officer assaulting a man with a stick and later slapping him before forcing him into a vehicle parked within the premises. In his response to the video, the Police spokesperson expressed his disappointment and stated that he had instructed the Rivers State command to identify and bring to justice the officers involved in the harassment.

A drama broke out along a road highway as a Nigeria Police makes move to arrest a dog due to the owner’s failure at proving its license.

During a stop and search on a highway, the police officer and a passenger argued over the documentation of a dog. The officer insisted that the passenger must provide a license before the dog can be released and on failing to do so, he intends to arrest the animal. The passenger who insisted on not having a license at a point appealed for the dog’s release over claims of buying it a few hours before the journey. A video making the rounds on social media captured the threats from an alleged Eze of Ajao Estate in Lagos who lamented bitterly about attacks on Igbo-owned businesses. The Eze alleged that their lives and business are not safe anymore in Lagos State at the hands of a group sabotaging their daily activities. He pressed on to make a threat about inviting the separatist group, Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) for security reasons. In response to the viral video, the Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin assured Lagosians to maintain calm.

Hundeyin emphasized that the state’s police would not sit back and watch such unfold. “To start with, the ever-ready @LagosPoliceNG will never fold its arms and allow such within the state…,” he wrote.

Ogun state police command has arrested the controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable after his initial resistance.

It would be recalled that the singer had raised alarm after the officers came to his bar to whisk him away. He had demanded to know why the wanted to arrest him and refused to follow the men to their station. Portable had later claimed that the officers had been sent by a Yahoo boy who wanted him arrested. Following the whole drama, he was slammed with a 72 hour ultimatum which elapsed today.

It was gleaned from sources online that he has now been arrested by the police division in Ogun and is to stay in detention for 72 hours. Speaking to the press, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer verified the arrest and said that he is currently in cell at the state headquarters of the police in Eleweran, Abeokuta. He also added that the street-hop musician was arrested after disregarding five invitations.

The Lagos police have confirmed the death of the first son of May and Yul Edochie, Kamibilichukwu as they launch an investigation.

Reports came in yesterday that the first son of the actor Yul Edochie and his wife May have lost their son after he collapsed when playing football with his friends on the pitch. Reports say he suffered a seizure and was rushed to the hospital. The spokesperson for the police in the state, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said Yul Edochie reported the death of his son to the command. According to the PPRO, the issue will be forwarded to the State Criminal Investigation Department on Friday, March 31,  for investigation.

On Thursday March 30th, the marriage expert was arrested by the police in an inaudible video making rounds on social media. The reason for her arrest is not yet clear, but some speculate that it may be related to the case of IVD and his deceased wife, Bimbo.

The Ogun state Police command has finally disclosed the reason for issuing an arrest warrant for controversial singer, Portable. According to the Command’s spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the singer had been invited to the police station on five separate occasions, but he refused to comply with the invitation.

Portable was summoned for questioning after a report was filed against him, and the police had also sent an invitation to him through his father twice, but he still did not show up. “We have also sent an invitation to him through his father like two times, yet he did not show his face,” he said. Following his continuous refusal to honour the invitation, the police obtained an arrest warrant for Portable from a court of law. “When the officers got to the place to carry out the arrest, Portable, on sighting them, stripped himself [email protected] to create a scene. He isn’t above the law,” the police spokesperson added. Recall, on March 28, Portable had taken to Instagram Live to accuse some police officers of harassing him in his office. In the video, he claimed to be a liability to the Federal Government and an employee of the ruling party, asserting that nothing could be done to him. Watch the video below:

Controversial singer, Habeeb Adunni Olawunmi Okikiola also known well as Portable is set to face prosecution for being rude to a police officer. In the early hours of yesterday, some police officers stormed the apartment of the singer Portable to arrest him. A video popped up on social media where Potable was heard shouting and challenging the police. He was heard saying: “I am a federal Government liability. I work with the Government too. I work with APC”. Following the incident, the Nigerian Police Force, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, stated that Portable was likely to suffer persecution over his behavior towards the police officer.

According to Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Portable declined to accept earlier invitations, the reason why some police officers stormed his house to arrest him. While speaking to Linda Ikeji Blog, the police command disclosed that countless invitations were sent to Portable but refused to honor the invitation; leading to his arrest. However, the singer resisted and caused a commotion at his bar. The police command stated that the action of the singer is unlawful and subject to punishment under Nigerian criminal law.
