Some children are out of school in Nigeria because of N80 levy - Maryam Uwais

As stated by recent data by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Nigeria’s out-of-school-children figure stands at 20 million. The statistics showed that India, Nigeria, and Pakistan have the highest number of out-of-school children globally between ages 6 and 18. Speaking in an interview with Channels Television, the Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari, Maryam said: “We have a population that is growing faster than our economy, and we are not targeting those issues that are increasing the numbers. There are so many differences. We need to determine the reason for these numbers. We need to be more strategic in ways to solve the problem. So it is essential to monitor the situation, to get the causation factor being given as feedback. We are under the National Bureau of Statistics; they can analyse the trends and address the issue. I will give you an example; I was in one State, I won’t tell you the State, but it is a northern state, I saw 13 children playing, and I asked them, ‘Why aren’t you in school? They gave different things, and they all had aspirations as young children. They said they aren’t in school because of N80 as Parent Levy or something like that. Now, if we can use such information coming from all communities or that being the most prevalent issue for out-of-school children, it can be tackled at the state government level because these are hidden levies that impact the ability to go to school.”

Samples of the urine, blood and other body fluid collected at autopsy. “Samples of bone and muscle taken from the deceased for purpose of independent DNA analysis. All photographs taken during the conduct of the autopsy. “Copies of any other working sample and documents made in the course of the autopsy, result of all toxicology tests conducted, the modalities of the transmission of the above listed items ‘a’ to ‘f’ shall be as decided by the Chief Medical Examiner of Lagos State. “The Chief Medical Examiner or an officer as assigned by him shall be present at all times during the transmission of the above listed items “a” to “f’ and the consultation of the Independent Forensic Pathologist of the applicant.”

Two former classmates who had once fought in their primary school days over two decades ago have revisited their beef on the cyber space.

Two former classmates resurrect primary school beef

It had all began when one Twitter user identified as @unkleayo had taken to the micro blogging platform to call out his classmate, Edun Tomisin for leaving him with a scar on his stomach – a scar which hasn’t vanished after so many years. According to @uncleayo, Edun Tomisin had torn him with a rusty blade by displacing him twice and taking the first position in class. He wrote: “Edun Tomisin, I haven’t forgotten neither have I forgiven you – Damiland Nursery & Primary School, Iju-Ishaga. You stabbed me with a rusty blade because I displaced you twice by coming first on getting a double promotion to join you in Pry III. More than 2 decades later, my stomach still bears testament.”

Interestingly, Edun Tomisin who is also on Twitter responded, baring his own side of the story. According to his classmate, the cut had simply been a mistake. But he had been beaten by the principal for the mistake and added that @unckleayo was always a sly boy who got others in trouble and pretended not to be guilty.

Edun Tomisin wrote: “Oh wow! 😂
You know what you son @UnkleAyo?
A vile, Horrible, Narcissistic dumb f*ck who deserves nothing good in this life or in the life to come. First of all, my sincere apologies for the scar. That’s being said.
Anyone who knows me can attest to the fact that I was a spoilt roughian kid as they call it then. I was clumsy to a fault. This particular accident however was a mistake as I remember. I was sharpening my pencil and someone pushed me and you just happen to be at the wrong place at that moment. I remember explaining to the proprietor, Hon Olu Elijah Adewale (may he soul rest in peace), how it was an accident and he still went on to beat the hell out of me. No grudges. I wouldn’t trust anything I said at that point in my life. What you failed to tell your thousands of followers who obviously are your source of happiness and achievements, is that you were worse than I was back then and a terrible human being. You derived pleasure in putting your classmates in trouble and because you were the smallest in class, you found a way to manipulate the teachers and anyone who cared to listen. You didn’t mention to your followers @UnkleAyo how you poured my food away on saveral occasions and called it an accident and everyone believed you. Neither did you tell your followers how you also stabbed me with compass, and in your usual way or manipulating, you got just a spank on the wrist. Did you tell them I was the one that reached out to you first? And that you refused to reply my messages?” Oh wow! 😂
You know what you son @UnkleAyo?
A vile, Horrible, Narcissistic dumb fuck who deserves nothing good in this life or in the life to come. First of all, my sincere apologies for the scar. https://t.co/dLKzIpguH1 pic.twitter.com/ZC37IK2dCF — Tomisin (@Official_Tomii) March 28, 2023
