EFCC declares use of unauthorized EFCC Jackets in movies, skits illegal

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has issued a warning to all skit makers and movie producers against using unauthorized EFCC jackets and symbols, stating that anyone found acting contrary to this advisory shall henceforth be treated as an impersonator and dealt with accordingly. This was contained in a statement shared on the commission’s official Facebook page on Wednesday, where the Commission notified the public that the use of the EFCC brand in movies without authorization is illegal.

EFCC officials on duty The statement read, “The attention of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has been drawn to the activities of content creators, movies and skit producers who use EFCC-branded Jackets, symbols, insignia and other accoutrements without authorization. “The Commission wishes to notify the public that the use of the EFCC brand in movies without authorization is illegal. “While the Commission appreciate the desire by some operators in the creative sector to produce movies/skits with plots around economic and financial crimes, it is incumbent on such operators to seek the Commission’s authorization, including vetting of scenes which purport to depict the operations of the Commission, to ensure that false or misleading messages are not passed to the public. “The Public Affairs Department of the Commission is adequately equipped to work with motion picture practitioners desirous of partnering with the Commission in using films and skits to educate the public, especially the youth on the dangers of economic and financial crimes. “Anyone found acting contrary to this advisory shall henceforth be treated as an impersonator and dealt with accordingly.”

Popular skit maker, Carter Efe has alleged that his colleague, Lamba lied about buying a new Lamborghini. You may recall that it was earlier reported that the content creator had taken to his Instagram page to share a clip of his brand new ride.

Video which captures singer YhemoLee bragging about earning more than skit makers has surfaced.

It would be recalled that controversial comedian, Carter Efe had called out YhemoLee over what he had said at Cloud Africa about skit-makers. In the video, which is now making the rounds and gives context to Carter Efe’s outburst, YhemoLee had claimed that skit-makers work too hard. According to him, skit A-listers such as Mr Macaroni, Sydney and others are always putting in too much work. He bragged that he makes the amount of cash they earn from 10 skits in one single night. Taaooma reveals who inspires some of her skits

Famous skit maker and Instagram influencer, Maryam Apaokaji popularly known as Taaooma has revealed her mum inspired some of her comedy skits.

The talented comedianne renowned for playing multiple characters in her comedy skits disclosed this during an interview to the host, Nancy Isime.

According to Taaooma, she got her ideas for a skit whenever she was around her mother.
When queried about who inspires her skit, she said:
“My mum. Whenever I’m around her, she gives me -unknowingly- a lot of stories; a lot of things, yeah.”
Taaooma also revealed that she gets her inspiration for skits from things that happen around her.
She added that it would be hard for her to act out some of her skits on stage because, she plays multiple characters in her skits.

In her words:
“It’s going to be difficult for me to act out a skit on stage because I’m like seven or eight characters. If I was this person where it’s differentiated, it’s going to be nice… I might but, right now, it’s not on my mind.”

The allegation was passed by the contentious blogger, Gistlovers who had initially alleged that the comedian’s marriage was on the verge of crashing due to his entanglements with side-chics.
