The lady had been dating your boyfriend for over 5 years. He was out of the country but still treated her nicely. Following her graduation, he suggested she moved into his apartment and got her a shop, while she awaited her NYSC program. Shortly after, they started to build his house and she was in charge of his finances as he did not trust his family. In 8 months, the house was ready and they moved, but rented out the back flat. A lady moved in with her family and before she knew it, her boyfriend started to date her. Her boyfriend said he didn’t love her anymore and that meeting their tenta was an eye opener for him. Now she is 31 and single. She, however, advised society to stop the act of shaming women who are 30+ and single as they are unaware their stories. She wrote: “I started dating my ex when I was 20 and he was my 2nd, my first molested me. So I always see my ex as my first cos my first consensual sez was with him. I had just gotten into uni then, Forward to 5yrs later, I graduated and we were still dating o. Mind you, I never had a school bf because he lived in Benin while my school was in ekpoma (AAU). All my years in school I never experienced what it felt like to have a bf In school. My whole life was just him. So after graduation, he asked me to move in with him. Though he was out of the country at the time. So I was staying at his place, I had a shop he opened for me while I was waiting for NYSC. we started building his house. I was in charge of his finances Because he didn’t trust any of his family members • then. so we finished the house in 8mths. I furnished and bought everything in the house but he was the one sending the money. So after Abt 2mths he came back to Nigeria and we moved into the house and rented out the back flat. A lay and her family moved in, guess what my ex started dating the lady without me knowing everybody in the whole area knew but I didn’t E, Well to cut long story short they’re both married with a kid now and guess what?? I’m just now beginning to heal from the heartbreak I know y’all might wanna know what his reason for breaking up with me was • Well according to him he said he didn’t love me anymore that meeting this said lady was what opened his eyes to realize that he has never loved me. That day I collapsed and was taken to the hospital. By the girl’s mother, I spent 3 days in the hospital and a week after I was discharged he came to my sister’s house to collect his shop keys. (I called it his shop cos he sponsored everything) and he gave the keys to the said girl’s mother e e I was depressed for over a year. Living on antidepressants. It took me 18 good months to even give my number to a man. I saw men like beasts e e. Now I’m 31, still single and somebody comes to bash me for being unmarried at this age? Y’all think anybody ever planned to be over 30 and unmarried??? Walk in People’s shoes first before bashing them. Apologies for the long history. See post below;

“In the Nigerian social media space, women are never wrong; society gives audience to women and shuts men up” – Ubi Franklin laments over gender bias

Popular music artist manager and entrepreneur, Ubi Franklin has lamented over gender bias on Nigerian social media space.

In a lengthy tweet, the media personality deplored the society’s unfair treatment of men on social media.
He stated that the society is always eager to believe the story told by a woman while casting doubts over the one told by the man.
His post reads:
“In the Nigerian social media space, women are never wrong because of the constant support bias of women who do similar unpleasant things.
The fact that it is a struggle to believe a story told by aman because a woman has said otherwise. The woman now chooses when she is strong or weak regardless of the man’s wellbeing.

A woman can throw in an accusation whenever she decides which unarguably gets support without an opportunity for the man to proof his innocence. The man eventually attempts to speak up and the frequent tags are ‘You are not man enough’ ‘You should have kept quiet’. Forgetting that man is also a human being with feelings.
Today, I receive some level of hate off social media because of speaking out and refusing to be intimidated. Men also cry, men also have emotions. The society gives audience to the woman and shuts the man up. Equal opportunity should be given to both genders to prove their innocence. Over the years, I have learnt to fight for myself regardless of the struggle to be heard. The consciousness to keep evidence against malicious people.
Chris Brown recently got vindicated on the alleged [email protected] case with little or no opportunity to proof his innocence before the backlash. If a woman cheats, her husband probably cheated that’s why she also when out to cheat. We need to do better, we need to detect pretentious and [email protected]!cious people. There should be consequences for these actions too. Someone has to be an example.”
