Following the death of an Ibadan vendor, Khadi, the hotel where she was lodged with a client has released a statement.
Khadi was found dead on Thursday after lodging with an individual who checked out early when she was confirmed to be alive. Following unrest on social media about the vendor, Wetland Hotel Akobo released a statement confirming the tragic loss while affirming police investigation. Statement released by Wetland Hotels
“To the General Public and our Dear Valued Guests, We regret to inform you that an unfortunate incident occurred at our hotel, Wetland Hotel. One of our guests passed away while staying with us. We are fully cooperating with the authorities in their investigation into this matter, and we assure you that we are doing everything we can to assist the police in their efforts to determine the cause of death. Please rest assured that the safety and well-being of our guests and staff are our top priority. We have taken all necessary measures to ensure that our facilities and services continue to meet the highest standards of hygiene and safety. As the investigation is ongoing, we kindly ask for your patience and understanding during this difficult time. We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available. This comes after the late Whitney’s mom cried out for justice on social media following reports that her daughter slumped and died during the school’s inter-house sports. The late student’s father, Michael Adeniran had also taken to social media on Saturday night to demand a probe into the death of his daughter. He called on the Lagos State government and the police to intervene in the matter. 
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident saying, “the matter was reported to the police immediately after the incident occurred. “The case is presently at the State Criminal Investigation Department and an autopsy is going to be carried out to know the circumstances that led to her death. That’s all the update I have for now.” In response, Chrisland Schools released a statement to address the death of Whitney Adeniran. The statement read; “The management and staff of Chrisland Schools Limited, with a deep sense of loss, announce the death of our precious student, Whitney Adeniran; whose painful exit occurred on Thursday, February 9th, 2023.
Amid interest from Arsenal and Chelsea, Moises Caicedo has released expressing his interest to leave Brighton where he has achieved so much success. 
In the statement he shared confirming his desire to leave Brighton, Caicedo disclosed that he wants to become Ecuador’s most successful player ever, as well as bring in a record fee for the club with his transfer. He wrote on Instagram; “I am grateful to [club owner] Mr. [Tony] Bloom and Brighton for giving me the chance to come to the Premier League and I feel I have always done my best for them. I always play football with a smile and with heart. 
“I am the youngest of 10 siblings from a poor upbringing in Santa Domingo in Ecuador. My dream always to be the most decorated player in the history of Ecuador. “I am proud to be able to bring in a record transfer fee for Brighton which would allow them to reinvest it and help the club continue to be successful. “The fans have taken me into their hearts and they will always be in my heart so I hope they can understand why I want to take up this magnificent opportunity.” Arsenal has already stepped up their interest in Brighton’s Moises Caicedo by submitting a bid in the region of £60million. Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi has already said that he believes that Caicedo would be in the right frame of mind to face Liverpool on Sunday, January 29, in the FA Cup.
