Former Governor of River State, Nyesom Wike, on Sunday, alleged that he was poisoned at the secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in 2018 during his governorship campaign for a second tenure. According to the former governor, who disclosed this during a special Thanksgiving service organised by his family at the St. Peters Deanery, Rumuepirikom, Obio-Akpor area of the state, his liver and kidneys stopped working and it took the intervention of God and doctors to save his life. Former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike Narrating how it all happened, the former governor said he was flown to Beirut at midnight, where doctors informed him that his liver and kidneys were gone and at that moment, everybody around him became a suspect. Wike said: “God was in charge, everybody who knew how we came to power in 2015, knew it was turbulent. “But God saw us through. When you are in office, many people think things are going well with you. Nobody wants to find out the problems you are facing as a human. “In December 2018, it was the day my former Chief of Staff was going to have Thanksgiving. I was to attend that Thanksgiving. From that Sunday on, I never came down from my room. It was bad. “But those who attended the January 1 state banquet of 2019 will know that I never spoke that day. I just sat down there and told the deputy governor to speak on my behalf. I thought it was over. “I didn’t know I had been poisoned at our party’s secretariat, the doctors, after some treatments, returned and told me my organs had started working again.”

Arsenal has reportedly contacted their London-rival Chelsea about the possibility of signing forward Kai Havertz. Real Madrid are also interested in the forward, with Chelsea ready to sell as they look set to offload up to ten players this summer. The Blues are reportedly willing to consider offers in the region of £70 million for the 24-year-old, whose contract expires in June 2025.

Hunter wrote a book titled “Makeover from Within: Lessons in Hardship, Acceptance, and Self-Discovery” to document his journey and share his experience with others. In an interview with The Grio, Hunter opened up about how his decision was motivated by the realization that he had missed out on many family moments while chasing his career. The 50-year-old is now prioritizing his family and personal goals. “Even though I had the dream job that everybody wanted, I also wanted to just do other things. So, I just stepped out in faith, and I’m glad I did because I learned so much more about myself,” he added. Hunter owes his success to a chance encounter with Tina Knowles, Beyoncé’s mother. In the late ’90s, Hunter was working at a fashion shop in a mall in Texas when Knowles walked in. She saw something in Hunter and promised to bring opportunities his way. Knowles kept her promise and allowed Hunter to work with Destiny’s Child on their “Survivor” music video. Since then, Hunter has continued to rise in fame and success. In an interview with Insider, the 50-year-old stylist revealed that his passion for fashion started when his mother, who had him at age 19, would ask his opinion on what to wear when they went out with her friends.
