She disclosed that despite being tortured emotionally by the incident, the only solace she found was her work. Toke mentioned how she soaked her head in her work after the incident in order to forget her problems. “I think that my job was the only thing that I was sure of in my life. Every other thing that was familiar has failed. The world that I had built had crumbled. And the only thing I was sure of was my job. “I remember walking into the [radio] studio, and like 7 a.m., the World News goes on. And there is a call from the owner of the radio station, and he is like, “Everyone is talking about you; I don’t want to get into it, but people are thinking you would literally fall apart. I think you need to go home.” She said she could cope with work because she learned earlier “to leave her feelings at the door and then pick them up when you are on your way home. So, once you walk into the studio, it’s not about you. It’s about the millions of people who are trying to make their ways work; they are the ones who are tuning in expecting to get entertained, informed, and on top of what is going in the world.” she said. “The world that I had built had crumbled…” – Toke Makinwa pic.twitter.com/HvlnhtQhyg — 🐬 @𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗷𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗯𝗼𝘆 (@OneJoblessBoy) June 2, 2023

In her words: “That reminds me. If you were the person farting every 10 – 15 mins straight on Royal Air Maroc (Lagos to Casablanca) on the 21st of May from 7:10 am to 11:30 am, I want to let you know that you’re very wicked. “I prayed to God to either block my nostrils or block your anus. You’re very wicked. Very very wicked. I almost ran mad. “I started speaking very loudly on a 4 hr flight. Saying “THIS IS UNFAIR! I CANNOT BREATHE. HOW CAN I BE ON A 4-HOUR FLIGHT AND NOT BE ABLE TO BREATHE PROPERLY” You heard me loud & clear and as soon as I finished you dropped another one and I want to let you know that you’re mad. “I sprayed perfume into a face mask and wore it and I could still smell it. Like the prev dose of fart will be lingering in the air and this person would drop another one. I could tell which was old and which was new. It was a never-ending cycle of air pollution.” Reacting to this, @MaryAfọlábí wrote: “I’m laughing so hard, tears are running. Likeeeee, what is this description?? But still, I can’t imagine how terrible this experience was for you, when it was happening. Must’ve been harrowing. Mehnnnnn.”
