'I am a mechanic' - 16-year-old Abia boy with 5 Guinness awards

A 16-year-old Nigerian boy, Vincent Okezie, with five certificates from Guinness World Records is currently a mechanic in Abia state.

Vincent’s story began making the rounds on social media following Hilda Baci’s record breaking cooking marathon at Amore Gardens, Lagos. Despite being a five times world recorder breaker, Vincent’s life has not changed for the better.

The photos of Vincent was shared on Facebook by a popular Nigerian content creator, Lucky Udu. Lucky Udu revealed that he confirmed from Vincent’s coach and manager, Chukwuebuka Ezugha to know if he was indeed a world record breaker before posting online.

According to him, Vincent is currently a Mechanic apprentice in Abia. Here are the five records broken by Vincent: Most consecutive backward handsprings with a football between the legs. Most consecutive passes of a football between the head and soles while balancing on the back of a person (129 passes). Most over and under pass of a football (soccer ball) with feet touching in one minute (team of two). Most transfers of football (soccer balls) spun on the finger in 30 seconds (team of two). 61-year-old pastor sentenced 18years for impregnating 16-year-old girl

A 61-year-old pastor, Famakinwa Ajayi has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for impregnating a 16-year-old girl. The pastor, Famakinwa who is the head pastor of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ayede Ogbese, in the Akure North council area of the state, reportedly raped and impregnated the girl.

Suit No: AK/195C/2021, was filed on behalf of the Ondo State Government by Mrs. Helen Falowo who is the Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions, at the Ondo State Ministry of Justice. The pastor was slapped with two charges at the Ondo State court. Which is, unlawful sexual intercourse with a child, contrary to Section 31(1)of the Child’s Rights Law of Ondo State, and sexual abuse and exploitation contrary to Section 32 (1). The Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions, Mrs. Falow told the court that the suspect defiled and repeatedly had carnal knowledge of the victim at his house where the family of the victim lived as tenants. She also added that the defendant also allegedly raped the victim at the market square where he took her on the pretext of delivering her from demonic spirits. “He continued in this dastardly act unabashedly till the innocent minor became pregnant in October 2021.”she said. The court however found the pastor guilty and sentenced him to 18 years in prison for rape and impregnating a minor.

Ejikeme Joy, a student of Anglican Girls Secondary School (AGSS) Nnewi, Anambra state, has emerged as the overall best student in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) with an aggregate score of 362.

Joy’s scores in English Language, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry were broken down as 98%, 89%, 94%, and 81%, respectively. The commissioner of education in Anambra state, Prof Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, commended her performance, describing it as “excellent and very outstanding”. The state government also reacted to the news, with a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Charles Soludo, Christian Aburime, saying that Ejikeme’s excellent feat brought joy and celebration to her school and Anambra state as her teachers, parents, and fellow students were thrown into a euphoric and exhilarating mood. The statement reads; “Anambra state has once again demonstrated its pride of place as the cradle of academic excellence in the country. “Following the outstanding result, Anambra state Commissioner of Education, Prof Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, has commended the brilliant performance by Ms Ejikeme Joy, describing it as “excellent and very outstanding. This result has demonstrated the investment and priority the administration of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo accords the education sector in the state. “This outstanding performance of Ejikeme has, indeed, brought joy and happiness to every Ndi-Anambra. We are proud of her, and we will monitor her academic progression as she pursues whatever career she desires. We are proud of her, and grateful to Governor Soludo for giving top priority to education in the state. Ejikeme Joy’s outstanding performance has also elicited reactions from the public, with many Nigerians congratulating her on social media platforms.

A homeowner in Kansas City, America shot and injured a 16-year-old boy, Ralph Yarl, who mistakenly went to the wrong home to pick up his siblings.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting on the evening of April 13 and arrived to find a teenager who had been shot by a homeowner outside a residence, according to Kansas City Police. Yarl was hit in the head and arm and is currently in stable condition at a hospital.
