Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba ignites mixed reactions online as he is set to release a tribute album for his late son while opening up on the motive behind the music. The talented musician, Mohbad died on the 12th of September 2023 under mysterious circumstances which had attracted media attention and that of the public.

It was revealed that the song is a tribute to honor the memory of his late son whose death had caused a national frenzy. The song entitled “Itunu”, is a tribute to Mohbad and the album is produced by Latsoul Films International.

How making ‘Timeless’ album healed me — Davido

Popular Singer, Davido has opened up that working on his record-breaking album, ‘Timeless‘, had been a healing process for him. It would be recalled that Davido had released the album on March 31, 2023; and it had been his first work of music since the death of his little boy, Ifeanyi Adeleke passed on October 31, 2022.

In an interview with Zane Lowe of Apple Music 1, Davido revealed that he had recorded most of the songs in his home, surrounded by his family and that gave him a calm atmosphere to make something. He said: “I actually recorded most of the album in my house where I live with my wife. At the time, it was really only me, her and her sisters, and I had one of my boys staying with me. It gave me time to really calm down. It was a healing process, because I was happy to be making music. I was excited about it. I felt like an artiste that had just got a record deal.” Davido also revealed that he had initially recorded a total of 28 songs for the album but had to filter out some. He said that he wanted the musical work to be accepted by his fans based on its own merit rather than it being accepted by the fact that he had lost his son.

Timeless. Speaking further, he noted that he was able to concentrate the most when he was on a plane. While making comments about his ‘Are We African Yet’ festival, which holds in Atlanta on 18th November, he said: “I want to give (different artistes) the opportunity to come every year and perform. They actually have fans here but they don’t know. With the Internet, all one has to do is ‘drop’ a song out on TikTok, and it’s gone (goes viral). “I feel like we have to own our culture. We cannot wait for somebody else to bring the idea. We have to do this ourselves.” “The vision I have is to create it to be something for the culture, not particularly mine. The first few editions will hold in Atlanta, but we will definitely move it around to places such as Los Angeles and Toronto (Canada).”

Controversial singer, Portable throws a heavy shade at rapper, Oladips for faking his death as he emphasizes that he cannot use his life to promote any of his albums. News which made the rounds on the 16 of November 2023 revealed that the rapper, Oladips is alive and his death was only a stunt to draw attention to his new album.

Only today, we were hit by the unfortunate death of Nigerian rapper, Oladips. Controversial Twitter personality, Daniel Regha has shared his opinion on Nigerian singer, Shallipopi‘s debut album. The controversial statement, which Regha posted on his Twitter profile, discussed his belief that Shallipopi’s first album, “Presido La Pluto,” was written with “Yahoo boys” and weed smokers in mind.

Regha did not hold back when he called the album’s lyrical material “a complete zero,” even though he agreed that it featured some amazing rhythms. Additionally, he drew attention to the lack of originality in the song “Iyo,” which purportedly featured a sample of Fabo Mo’s “Itendo” by Shallipopi.

Regha found solace in the fact that he thought the song “Jungle” was better. He ended his Twitter tirade with a tepid “no offence,” implying that his words were just his personal viewpoint, despite the harshness of his criticism. Speaking as a guest on the recent episode of +44 podcast, Davido said he felt he would either be broken or pull through with his 17-track album. Davido disclosed he told his team to leave one hour before his album was released, prayed and then slept. When he woke up after over 3hours, he got scared because he didn’t see anyone celebrating his album. He also added that he has not felt this much happiness since he broke into the industry 12 years ago. “This is me telling myself the truth; this album was either going to make me or break me. The singer made this known in a recent interview with Hot 107.9 FM in Atlanta, United States.

You know, sometimes you do an album, you probably get like four or three on there that are like big singles…” When asked how he is feeling now, the OBO crooner said, “It hasn’t been easy. I just thank God for being able to do my job, to sit here talk to you. There was a point that I felt I wouldn’t be able to do my job. So, I’m just happy I’m able to be creative again. “The success of the album has been part of my healing process. After like three months [after Ifeanyi’s demise] I was able to work again. Ed Sheeran releases album hours after winning copyright lawsuit

British singer, Ed Sheeran releases an album almost immediately after winning Marvin Gaye’s song ‘Let’s Get It On’ copyright lawsuit. The British singer was taken to court by the heirs of Ed Townsend’s estate, claiming the singer’s 2014 hit single ‘Thinking Out Loud’ was similar to Gaye’s hit track. Ed Sheeran, who threatened to quit music if he loses the lawsuit has won the copyright lawsuit in the USA and released a new album titled ‘Subtract’ right after. Speaking after his victory, Sheeran said: “We’ve spent the last eight years talking about two songs with dramatically different lyrics, melodies and four chords which are also different and used by songwriters every day all over the world. “These chords are common building blocks which were used to create music long before Let’s Get It On was written and will be used to create music long after we are all gone. “They are in a songwriter’s alphabet, our toolkit, and should be there for all of us to use.”
