After her record-breaking achievement, Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci, shares her thoughts on the event, including her toughest moment. On Monday, May 15, the 27-year-old chef made history by breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest individual cooking time.

Hilda Baci cooked continuously for 100 hours, surpassing the previous record of 87 hours and 45 minutes held by Indian chef Lata Tondon in 2019. Her cooking marathon began on May 11, 2023, and concluded late on May 15. During the event, she cooked over 200 meals and served them to an impressive crowd of more than 4,000 people. In a recent interview with Pulse, Hilda spoke about her achievement, revealing that the most challenging part of the marathon was the first six hours, during which she had to pray for strength.

“I am amazed at the outpouring of love from Nigerians towards achieving this record. The first six hours were the toughest for me, and I had to pray to God for strength,” she said. “I appreciate everyone who took the time to support and encourage me by visiting the venue to cheer me on or driving the conversation on social platforms. “Your unwavering passion to see me succeed through this attempt is heartfelt. I am grateful to my family, the various teams that worked with me on this project, and fans from all over the world who kept the passion going,” she added.

A Twitter user identified as @thefashygram who attended the event, however, found love at the cooking show. Taking to the micro-blogging platform, Twitter, he rolled out stunning photos of the lady who is now his girlfriend.

Why Hilda Baci may not be certified as Guinness breaker

A Liberian man identified as Gary has given reasons why Hilda Baci may not be certified as a Guinness World Record breaker. He made this statement after she was compared to a Liberian chef, Wonyean Aloycious, who recently declared his intention to challenge the Nigerian chef.

Gary maintained that Liberian chef, Aloycious is bigger than Hilda Baci when it comes to preparing food. He added that the management of Guinness World Records will not recognize her for twerking while cooking. In a viral video on TikTok, Hilda gave a tour of her house, stating that the kitchen is her favourite spot in the house as that is where her chef contents are created.

According to the celebrity chef, she can open the door to her house even if she’s not within the vicinity. “I have an Alexa that does everything from opening the curtain, turning on and off the tv, among others,” Hilda said. The first female to hold the record of cooking for longest was an India chef called Lata Tondon. She cooked continuously for eighty-seven hours forty-five minutes.
