VAR deny Aston Villa win over Sheffield United ‘Getty image Referee Anthony Taylor determined that Jacob Ramsey had fouled Wes Foderingham, leading to the goal being disallowed. Despite the setback, Villa continued to push forward. However, with three minutes left, they fell behind as former player Archer netted for Sheffield United. Although Nicolo Zaniolo salvaged a late equalizer for Villa in stoppage time with a header, the draw meant they missed out on an opportunity to claim the top spot in the league. INEC explains why agents were denied access to election results
Three officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC have explained that the Commission instructed them not to give final copies of election results that were tabulated in a Form EC8A, to some political party agents. The officials also admitted that they couldn’t electronically transmit the polling unit results in real-time using the BVAS device during the 2023 presidential election held on 25 February 2023 across the country. They explained this in court on Friday during the hearing of the petition candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, filed to challenge the outcome of the 2023 election. Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar The officials testified before the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) in Abuja that they were hired as Ad-hoc staff for the general elections. They further told the court that as Presiding Officers, they conducted the presidential election at their various polling units and subsequently handed the results to the Ward Collation Officers, saying that they were warned not to give copies of the results to any agent of a political party that failed to sign the result sheet. Recall that President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima and the All Progressives Congress, APC had opposed the decision of the petitioners to produce five ad-hoc staff members of the electoral body that participated in the conduct of the presidential election, to testify as witnesses before the court. However, despite the objections, Justice Haruna Tsammani-led five-member panel of the court, gave the former Vice President, Atiku, the nod to produce the five witnesses. The court said it would reserve its ruling on the objections and deliver the same at a later date. Whereas two of the witnesses testified on Thursday, the remaining two gave their evidence on Friday.

Boehly sacked Tuchel after he denied him half-time dressing room visit
Chelsea co-owner, Todd Boehly reportedly sacked Thomas Tuchel just days after he was denied the opportunity to take a group of guests into the dressing room. TalkSPORT reported that this took place in September during Chelsea’s 2-1 win against West Ham at Stamford Bridge. The match in question was Tuchel’s last as Chelsea manager in the Premier League, with the score level at half-time. It was gathered that Boehly wanted to give a group of guests including children a personal tour at half-time of the game but was denied entry to the dressing room by the manager who was angry with his players. The American thereafter returned to his seat up in the directors’ box. Tuchel was relieved of his duties just days later after a defeat to Dinamo Zagreb. The German who has since returned to the Bundesliga to manage Bayern Munich was replaced by former Brighton coach, Graham Potter.
The club has now gone down on the league table with Potter also sacked following his inability to get a tune out of a huge squad. Frank Lampard who was appointed as interim manager, has also gone winless in his first 4 games in charge. It was also learnt that Boehly has now made going to the dressing room a regular occurrence, with the club in desperate need of an upturn in form from somewhere. Chelsea are now out of the Champions League and have now shifted their focus to getting more points in the Premier League while searching for a new permanent manager.
