The Governor, who was outraged by the offensive occurrence, claimed that the aide violated the moral and social ethos of the Kebbi community, which is predominantly Islamic. The governor warned that his government would not tolerate any actions that harmed the morality and integrity of the people of the state. The Governor further warned other public officials not to make such vile posts on their social media accounts or other public forums.” Over the weekend, Mr. Sarki allegedly posted gay content on his WhatsApp status. When the governor learned of the incident while still in Saudi Arabia for Hajj, he fired Mr Sarki.
