Notable Nigerian culinarian, chef Dammy responds to Guinness World Records’ report regarding her 120-hour cook-a-thon attempt. Reports had earlier circulated that chef Dammy did not formally apply to the recording authority before undertaking the challenge to surpass her compatriot Hilda Baci’s cooking record.

Credit: dammypass / Twitter In a statement on her official Facebook page, the Ekiti Chef clarified that her intention with the 120-hour cook-a-thon was to push her abilities rather than aiming to break any records. She expressed her happiness for persevering and not giving up. “I stated this earlier that I embarked on this journey to test my capability not for any GWR.. l am happy that I cooked for 120 hours. I am proud that I never gave up,” she said.
It is worth noting that the chef surpassed the record of Hilda Baci’s awarded 93-hour for the longest cooking time. She has since been awarded many gifts and financial support from Nigerians who applauded her effort.
Woman delivers 9 babies at once, breaks Guinness World Records
The babies comprise five girls and four boys, and their names are Adama, Oumou, Hawa, Kadidia, Fatouma, Oumar, Elhadji, Bah, and Mohammed VI. The BBC reports that the children and their mother have returned to Mali after their stay in Morocco. Their father said: “They all have different characters. Some are quiet, while others make more noise and cry a lot. Some want to be picked up all the time. They are all very different, which is entirely normal.” The Malian government contributed to the mother’s care and ordered that she be flown to Morocco when she was pregnant. The father, Abdelkader Arby, has said that caring for the children is a lot of work. “It’s a lot of work but Allah, who gave us this blessing, will help us in their upbringing and taking care of them,” he said. The parents already had a 3-year-old girl before the nonuplets were born. The birth of the nonuplets has captured the attention of people around the world, with many expressing their amazement at the mother’s ability to carry and deliver nine babies at once. The Guinness World Record has confirmed that Halima Cissé’s delivery of nonuplets is the first known instance of a woman giving birth to nine babies at once.
