The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced his victory after he scored 762,134 valid votes, with LP and PDP trailing behind with 312,329 and 62,449 votes respectively. Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized that now that the elections are over, governance must continue, and the people of Lagos should expect the delivery of democratic dividends without any interruption. He also reiterated his commitment to fulfilling all the promises he made during his campaign. Sanwo-Olu’s Appreciation Note To Lagosians ”Lagosians, you did not just vote for Babajide Sanwo-Olu. You voted for a greater Lagos. I promise that together we shall achieve this. This is a promise that shall not be broken. A greater Lagos shall be ours. ”Let me boldly and proudly say that we are already well on the way to that greater Lagos, and we now have four more years to join hands to advance in ways that will pleasantly surprise even the most skeptical amongst us”  Speaking on the Economic Growth of Lagos ”I have worked very hard to live up to this responsibility of governing the most important subnational economy in all of Africa. ”We certainly could not have done this by ourselves. What we have achieved, both in the last four years, and in the just-concluded election, could not have happened without a long list of supporters and partners. ”First and foremost, let me thank the Almighty God, to whom we owe our very breath, and who has spared our lives to see this day. I am also very grateful to all of you the good people of Lagos. Everyone, not just the people who voted for us, or those registered to vote. ”Lagos is what it is today because of each and every one of you, regardless of ethnicity, religion, political affiliation, gender or age. ”We are a vibrant and thriving hub of commerce, finance, entrepreneurship, innovation and culture because of the diversity that has come to define us, over the decades and the centuries. Thank you,” he said. Sanwo-Olu Addresses Attacks and Ethnic Profiling during Lagos Election ”We saw hateful and hurtful ethnic profiling by fellow citizens – which is totally out of place for us as Lagosians, the proud residents of West Africa’s pre-eminent melting pot. ”I want to recognise and salute all of the multitudes of residents who refused to succumb to those who sought and still seek to divide us with their unguarded and inciting comments. ”Unfortunately, there are reports of skirmishes in some local government areas wherein some citizens were reported to have been injured. We strongly condemn these reprehensible incidents – that is definitely not who we are as a people. ”The relevant law enforcement and security agencies have been directed to investigate these breaches of the law, and to ensure that those found culpable face the full wrath of the law. ”Now that the elections are over, we must reaffirm the spirit of solidarity and togetherness that binds us as Lagosians. ”As I said in my final pre-election address, we have a lot of work to do in working and moving past the divisive rhetoric that has shaped the course of this election cycle.”

According to a report by the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ), two party agents were involved in this activity in Bariga and Shomolu on Sunday, offering amounts of N1500 and N2000. One individual, who received N2000, stated that he did not vote for APC during the presidential election and may choose not to vote for them in the upcoming governorship poll. “I never voted for the APC in the presidential election. That I was given N2,000 doesn’t mean I would vote for the party on Saturday. Everything is just runs,” he said. Also, a 58-year-old woman, who benefited from the N1,500 APC bribe, confirmed the fund transfer on her mobile phone. “The APC just credited me with N1,500. I voted for them at the presidential and I’ll likely do the same at the gubernatorial this coming Saturday,” she said.

According to him, Lagosians pay for a luxury they can’t enjoy. They live in expensive houses that have similarities with boarding schools.
Dandizzy notes that Lagos is too chaotic a place to live in and that even the top celebrities barely stay in Lagos anymore.
The rapper also touched on the killing that occurs on a daily basis but no one ever talks about it.

“Dear lagosians there are 36states in nigeria, nigeria does not start and end in lagos!! People live in calabar, porthacourt akwa ibom, enugu benin and delta&they have amazing lives and they do not drink yellow water and spend half of their lives in traffic or pay expensive rent.
You people pay for luxury and do not even enjoy any luxury, you pay rent and still live like you’re in boarding school.
Even lagos people go to abuja and think they’re abroad, they cannot believe that ordinary people should enjoy the basic things abuja people enjoy„ because of their classist mentality, most mainland people have better lives than island people.
If nah porthacourt them kill one boy and lawyer in space of one month the entire twitter will scream ph and violence, but I can count the amount of violence that happens in lagos daily that does not get media coverage, we have been having successful events in ph for years now!! Most people will say I cannot afford lagos life lol, me wey Dey do urgent 2k for people wey Dey get likes pass me for Instagram, me wey Dey follow una big bailers go club, them no Dey hold money to pay for anything and I Dey chest my bill, lol if only you people know the truth.
I actually have a house in ph and another in lagos I’m thinking of renting a third in abuja, my music business takes me all over nigeria and lagos is too chaotic for me to live or even raise a family, wizkid don abandon una Burna barely stays in lagos, anybody wey blow Dey japa.
I say what most of you want to say but aren’t bold enough to say, most of you have different opinions but follow popular opinions because you don’t want to be dragged, but the more you remain silent the more a dead narrative begins to look like truth.”
