Bear storms luxury hotel, attacks security guard

Bear storms luxury hotel, attacks security guard

A shocking incident unfolded at the renowned St. Regis Aspen Resort in Aspen, Colorado, on the night of October 23 when a bear ventured into the luxury hotel’s premises and attacked a security guard. This unexpected encounter, captured on security footage, left the security guard injured and the bear ultimately euthanized. The on-duty security guard was alerted to reports of a bear inside the hotel and bravely decided to investigate the situation.

According to a statement released by Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW), upon entering the hotel’s kitchen, the security guard came face to face with the intruding bear. The security camera footage shows the bear casually roaming around the kitchen, followed by the guard who cautiously approaches. However, the situation quickly escalated when the bear swiped at the guard, knocking him to the ground, and then made a hasty retreat. In the immediate aftermath of the attack, the security guard managed to call 911, and he was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of the scratches he sustained on his back. Fortunately, his injuries were not life-threatening, and he was released from the hospital after receiving medical care. Colorado Parks and Wildlife officers were alerted to the situation at 11 p.m. on the night of the attack, and they launched a search operation for the bear. It took until the early hours of Wednesday, October 25 for wildlife officers to successfully locate and apprehend the bear. According to CPW, the officers found the bear near Conner Park and employed non-lethal tactics to haze the animal into a tree within the park. Following this, a tranquilizer gun was used to immobilize the bear, and it was safely removed from the tree using an Aspen Fire ladder truck. Regrettably, per CPW policy, the bear was humanely euthanized, marking a somber end to this extraordinary series of events. Investigation into the incident revealed that the bear had gained access to the hotel through a series of doors near the hotel’s courtyard. In the midst of the search for the bear involved in the attack, CPW officers observed the presence of eight other bears moving about downtown Aspen. See below;

Source: Twitter The court, affirming the verdict on Monday, was met with an unexpected display of aggression when Zieler jabbed his attorney, Kevin Shirley, in the face with his elbow. The attack occurred moments after Zieler had requested for the cameras in the room to be taken down, seemingly in an attempt to have a private conversation with his lawyer. However, instead of whispering, Zieler struck Shirley, prompting a swift response from three bailiffs who wrestled him to the ground before escorting him out of the courtroom. Shirley, speaking about the incident, explained, “It seemed like he didn’t want our conversation to be picked up by the microphones. So he waved me down and I bent over, and he struck me.” The attorney sustained the blow but assured the court that he had endured worse in the past, according to Fox 4. Earlier in May, Zieler had received a death sentence from a jury in Lee County, Florida, after being convicted of raping and suffocating his two victims. The arrest in 2016 marked a breakthrough in the cold case, 26 years after the brutal murders took place. Despite his counsel’s appeal for a new trial during Monday’s appearance, the judge dismissed the motion and upheld the conviction, as reported by WPTV. Following the attack, captured in viral footage, Lee Circuit Judge Robert Branning expressed concern for the attorney’s well-being, asking if he was okay. Shirley responded that he had endured more severe blows before, displaying remarkable resilience in the face of the assault. Chairman calls out Gov. Adeleke over rising attacks on APC members in Osun

Chairman calls out Gov. Adeleke over rising attacks on APC members in Osun

Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State urges Governor Ademola Adeleke to tackle the mounting insecurity in the state.

Chairman calls out Gov. Adeleke over rising kidnaps, death of APC members in Osun

The party expressed concern about the recent spike in violent attacks, particularly in the lead-up to, during, and after the general elections across the country. Osun State is said to be renowned for being one of the most peaceful states in the country until the 2023 general elections, particularly in the Osun East Senatorial District encompassing the Ife and Ijesa regions. Tajudeen Lawal announced in a statement on Monday, April 3, 2023, that more than 30 members of the opposition APC were reportedly murdered by thugs believed to be backed by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Governor of Osun state Ademola Adeleke

Furthermore, the party condemned the kidnaps that transpired on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, and Friday, March 31, on the Osogbo-Ikirun road. Statement on attacks in Osun State reads in part “As of the time of making this statement with the exception of a woman whose release was secured by the police on Sunday, the victims were said to still be in captivity. “A caring governor would have either condemned the two kidnapping incidents in his territory within three days or rushed back from Abuja as the number one security officer of the state. “It is saddening that as I speak, Governor Adeleke has no comment of condemnation to his credit on all the murder incidents that happened so far in his four-month-old administration. “His handling of Osun affairs has shown that governance of a state is not a tea party which is the reason why it is not the best arrangement to make the state a laboratory for greenhorns in the management of the affairs of human beings and resources.”

“This is definitely not who we are” — Sanwo-Olu condemns attacks, addresses Lagosians following election win

"This is definitely not who we are" — Sanwo-Olu condemns attacks, addresses Lagosians following election win

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State stated that his re-election for a second term is proof that Lagos has chosen competence and experience as it marches towards true greatness.

"This is definitely not who we are" — Sanwo-Olu condemns attacks, addresses Lagosians following election win

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced his victory after he scored 762,134 valid votes, with LP and PDP trailing behind with 312,329 and 62,449 votes respectively. Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized that now that the elections are over, governance must continue, and the people of Lagos should expect the delivery of democratic dividends without any interruption. He also reiterated his commitment to fulfilling all the promises he made during his campaign. Sanwo-Olu’s Appreciation Note To Lagosians ”Lagosians, you did not just vote for Babajide Sanwo-Olu. You voted for a greater Lagos. I promise that together we shall achieve this. This is a promise that shall not be broken. A greater Lagos shall be ours. ”Let me boldly and proudly say that we are already well on the way to that greater Lagos, and we now have four more years to join hands to advance in ways that will pleasantly surprise even the most skeptical amongst us”  Speaking on the Economic Growth of Lagos ”I have worked very hard to live up to this responsibility of governing the most important subnational economy in all of Africa. ”We certainly could not have done this by ourselves. What we have achieved, both in the last four years, and in the just-concluded election, could not have happened without a long list of supporters and partners. ”First and foremost, let me thank the Almighty God, to whom we owe our very breath, and who has spared our lives to see this day. I am also very grateful to all of you the good people of Lagos. Everyone, not just the people who voted for us, or those registered to vote. ”Lagos is what it is today because of each and every one of you, regardless of ethnicity, religion, political affiliation, gender or age. ”We are a vibrant and thriving hub of commerce, finance, entrepreneurship, innovation and culture because of the diversity that has come to define us, over the decades and the centuries. Thank you,” he said. Sanwo-Olu Addresses Attacks and Ethnic Profiling during Lagos Election ”We saw hateful and hurtful ethnic profiling by fellow citizens – which is totally out of place for us as Lagosians, the proud residents of West Africa’s pre-eminent melting pot. ”I want to recognise and salute all of the multitudes of residents who refused to succumb to those who sought and still seek to divide us with their unguarded and inciting comments. ”Unfortunately, there are reports of skirmishes in some local government areas wherein some citizens were reported to have been injured. We strongly condemn these reprehensible incidents – that is definitely not who we are as a people. ”The relevant law enforcement and security agencies have been directed to investigate these breaches of the law, and to ensure that those found culpable face the full wrath of the law. ”Now that the elections are over, we must reaffirm the spirit of solidarity and togetherness that binds us as Lagosians. ”As I said in my final pre-election address, we have a lot of work to do in working and moving past the divisive rhetoric that has shaped the course of this election cycle.”

Pep Guardiola has shared his thoughts on the attacks launched against Manchester City since it was reported that the club has been charged by the Premier League for financial breaches. Guardiola reacts to attacks by critics after Manchester City was charged for financial breaches It was reported earlier that the English club has been charged with 101 breaches of financial regulations since the takeover by the Abu Dhabi United Group in 2008, with the punishment a long way from being decided. Reacting to questions on the development from reporters on Friday, February 10, Guardiola stated that while he feels they’ve already been condemned even though prosecutors are yet to prove the charges, he still believes they are “innocent until proven guilty”. Guardiola reacts to attacks by critics after Manchester City was charged for financial breaches The club’s coach said; “My thought is that we have already been condemned. Since Monday it is like what happened with UEFA. The club proved that they were completely innocent, why should I think right now, with just charges of suggestions… You have to understand that the 19 teams of the Premier League are accusing us without opportunity to defend ourselves. You know exactly on what side I am. “We are lucky we live in a society where everybody is innocent until proven guilty. We didn’t have this opportunity. (People say) we are already guilty. I think we have good lawyers but the Premier League – supported by 19 teams – are going to take good lawyers too. If we are not innocent we will accept what the judge or Premier League decide, but what happens if it’s the same as UEFA and we are innocent? What happens to restore our damage?”
