The Ogun State Police Command has uncovered a horrifying crime involving the ritual killing of 18-year-old boy, Quadri Salami, a 100-level student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile Ife, Osun State. The young man’s remains were discovered buried in a shallow grave at Mile 6 Ajebo area of Abeokuta, the state capital. The disturbing incident came to light after the father of the deceased reported his son missing at the Kemta Police Station on November 8.

Despite relentless efforts to locate Quadri, all attempts proved futile. The investigation took a dark turn when a tracking clue led the police to one of the suspects, Akeem Usman, who was arrested in possession of the victim’s phone. According to a statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, the suspect, Akeem Usman, implicated another individual named Ifadowo Niyi. Both suspects reportedly confessed to the heinous crime, revealing that they slaughtered Quadri and dismembered his body for ritual purposes. Ifadowo Niyi allegedly took away the victim’s head and two wrists, paying a sum of one hundred thousand Naira into Akeem Usman’s account as proceeds from the sale of the human body parts. “The suspects thereafter continued to sell the victim’s other body parts on demand to Internet fraudsters and buried the heart, two legs, and flesh inside a plastic rubber for rituals and used the remaining parts for ‘Awure'(luck charm) a crime against humanity. Among their confessional statement, the duo admitted that they have used four other human heads for money rituals known as “Osole” the statement read. The police have the suspects, Akeem Usman and Ifadowo Niyi, in custody at Eleweran, SCID, where discreet investigations are ongoing. Following the completion of investigations, the suspects will be arraigned in court to face the consequences of their horrifying actions.

A 32-year-old man, David Shodola, suspected to be mentally challenged, on Friday beheaded an 84-year-old man, Alfred Opadipe, in Iperu community, Remo North Local Government Area of Ogun. Shodola also ended up dead as he was said to have violently resisted arrest and attacked police officers with a machete.

Odutola said that following a call received from an unnamed informant, police officers led by the Isara Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Bankole Eluyeru, stormed the scene. The PPRO said that an attempt to arrest the suspect was allegedly fiercely resisted as he used “the machete on the Divisional Police Officer and his men.” The police spokesman said that the team succeeded in neutralising the suspect. Odutola said from the intelligence gathered by the police, there was no report of the suspect being mentally challenged. In other news, a 22-year-old woman named Mika Shabasova died during a buttocks enlargement surgery done by her friend, an unqualified beautician. The surgery took place at the cosmetologist’s home, and Mika passed away just ten minutes after receiving a local anaesthetic. The cosmetologist, identified as Uma M, was placed under house arrest as authorities look into the incident. Uma M, who only completed a two-week course, offered the procedure for £154 even though she had no license for cosmetic surgery. She had previously done lip, cheek, and buttock enlargements without proper qualifications. According to state investigators in Makhachkala, Uma M repeatedly used lidocaine, a local anaesthetic, on Mika’s skin. Mika was asked about allergies, but unfortunately, the procedure led to her death. The Russian Investigative Committee is currently examining all the details surrounding the incident. Mika’s friend advised her not to undergo the buttock procedure, which Uma M had promoted. Uma M had recently received a certificate after working as a waitress and lash extension technician.

According to neighbours, Samson left home for over five years, only for him to return home a month ago. His mother was said to have made several complaints to neighbours and security operatives about the suspect using hard drugs. “A neighbour who wants to be anonymous told Ijebu Rewa that Samson rushed to him in the early hours of today (Sunday) saying that the Prophetess (Samson’s Mother) had slumped and died. After the neighbours rushed inside and only for them to realize the mother was strangled to death as evidence of marks were all over her neck and leg, the left hand had broken, there was blood stain mark on Samson’s fingernails. The neighbors held onto him and he started saying he does not know anything and how it happened. It dawns on them that Samson was under the influence of hard drugs to have strangled his own mother to death,” the report says. “It is indeed a sad day for the people in Itanrin axis of Ijebu-Ode. Samson has been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force and the mother’s corpse has been deposited at the Morgue for further investigation.”

Mrs. Ayeni, a resident of Ijebu-Ode, was en route to Ore when contact with her abruptly ceased, leaving her family in a state of anguish. According to her distraught husband, Johnson Okesanya, Mrs. Ayeni embarked on her journey from Ijebu-Ode on Tuesday, July 11, 2023. However, she never reached her intended destination, and her whereabouts remain unknown. Okesanya asserts that his wife and baby were kidnapped while traveling along the Ijebu-Ode-Ore expressway. He mentioned that he last spoke to his wife at approximately 2:26 pm before her phone inexplicably became unavailable. In a message posted by Johnson Okesanya and widely shared by concerned individuals on the Ijebu Rewa platform, he implores anyone with useful information to come forward. The distraught husband expresses his deep concern and appeals for assistance in locating his missing wife and child. He further states that he has already contacted the police, who are now involved in the investigation. Mrs. Blessing Ayeni is described as light-skinned with a height of 5.6 feet, adding to the description of the missing woman to aid in identification efforts. The Ogun state Police command has finally disclosed the reason for issuing an arrest warrant for controversial singer, Portable. According to the Command’s spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the singer had been invited to the police station on five separate occasions, but he refused to comply with the invitation.

Portable was summoned for questioning after a report was filed against him, and the police had also sent an invitation to him through his father twice, but he still did not show up. “We have also sent an invitation to him through his father like two times, yet he did not show his face,” he said. Following his continuous refusal to honour the invitation, the police obtained an arrest warrant for Portable from a court of law. “When the officers got to the place to carry out the arrest, Portable, on sighting them, stripped himself [email protected] to create a scene. He isn’t above the law,” the police spokesperson added. Recall, on March 28, Portable had taken to Instagram Live to accuse some police officers of harassing him in his office. Controversial singer, Habeeb Adunni Olawunmi Okikiola also known well as Portable is set to face prosecution for being rude to a police officer. In the early hours of yesterday, some police officers stormed the apartment of the singer Portable to arrest him. A video popped up on social media where Potable was heard shouting and challenging the police. He was heard saying: “I am a federal Government liability. I work with the Government too. I work with APC”. Following the incident, the Nigerian Police Force, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, stated that Portable was likely to suffer persecution over his behavior towards the police officer.

According to Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Portable declined to accept earlier invitations, the reason why some police officers stormed his house to arrest him. While speaking to Linda Ikeji Blog, the police command disclosed that countless invitations were sent to Portable but refused to honor the invitation; leading to his arrest. However, the singer resisted and caused a commotion at his bar. The police command stated that the action of the singer is unlawful and subject to punishment under Nigerian criminal law.

The suspect was apprehended for  negligence that resulted in the child’s demise. Adegesin, who possessed a loaded dane gun, had left it unattended in an open space in his backyard, where children played. A 13-year-old boy identified as Babalola reportedly picked up the gun, aimed it at the girl, and pulled the trigger, resulting in her death. According to DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the state Police Public Relations Officer, the suspect was arrested following a report made at the Imasayi police divisional headquarters detailing the incident that occurred at Kukudi village in Imasayi. Oyeyemi said, “Upon arriving at the scene of the incident, the deceased was discovered in a pool of blood. “Preliminary investigations revealed that Semiu Adegesin, the owner of the dane gun, loaded his gun and carelessly left it in an open place in the backyard of the house where children used to play. “It was at this point that the 13-year-old Babalola picked up the loaded gun, pointed it at the deceased, and pulled the trigger. “The deceased was quickly taken to the General Hospital, Ilaro, but was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty. “The owner of the dane gun was promptly arrested and taken to the station for interrogation.” Expressing his sympathy to the family of the deceased, the Commissioner of Police, Frank Mba, described the incident as unfortunate. He also urged the public to remain calm while assuring them that the case would be thoroughly investigated. “The death of young Esther Samuel is an unfortunate incident, and we extend our heartfelt sympathies to her family. “The Ogun State Police Command will ensure that justice is served in this case and the perpetrator brought to book. “We urge members of the public to remain calm as we conduct a thorough and discreet investigation,” He said.
