Police react to alleged attack on Igbos in Abule Ado

The Lagos State Police Command acknowledges the alleged attack on the Igbo community in the Abule Ado region of the state.

The attack took place shortly after the governorship and house of assembly elections were held in most parts of the state. A viral video depicts two young Igbo men being carried into a vehicle after allegedly being injured by suspected political thugs near Festac Town in the Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area; an area significantly dominated by Southeasterners. In response, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed that normalcy has been restored by the security agency. The spokesperson stated that an intra-community fight broke out in the area earlier this morning, leading to property damage.

“Owing to the timely arrival of the police, no life was lost and no property was razed as widely claimed. Two persons have been arrested and investigation has commenced into the matter. Police officers remain on ground to prevent further breakdown of law and order,” the PRO added. Watch the video below …

Police commissioner debunks widespread violence

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, refuted claims of widespread violence and voter suppression during the governorship and House of Assembly elections held on March 18.

Idowu Owohunwa, Lagos Commissioner of Police. During an interview with Channels TV on Saturday, Owohunwa acknowledged some attacks on the electorate and electoral officers at specific polling units. He stated that they were not widespread violence during the elections as claimed and that the police responded promptly to most of them. “It is true that we’ve recorded instances of violence in some areas within the state. The incidents were not as widespread as to affect the general dynamics of the process. “Most of the instances were properly responded to by the police because we anticipated them,” he said. Speaking on anticipating violence in some regions, he added, “Yes, in some instances. We anticipated and then we integrated that into our general operational plan and we activated that protocol effectively in this instance. Most of those breaches, the police were able to respond promptly.” The Police Commissioner also confirmed that a young man who allegedly snatched a ballot box was rescued by the police and other security agencies and was receiving medical attention. Owohunwa revealed that many arrests were made and that almost all the ballot boxes were recovered in cases of ballot box snatching.

Lady admits to assault on police officer, witnesses murder

One Ijeoma takes to her heels after admitting to assaulting a police officer and also witnessed the murder of an alleged thug in the Ago palace area of Lagos State.

A Twitter user identified as @Ijeoma__x had taken to the platform to share a video of an assault on an individual who was unconscious on the floor. The incident took place at Star Times Estate, Ago palace, Okota. Ijeoma claimed that the thug made it through her estate gate with the intention of disrupting the gubernatorial elections. She further added that she personally assaulted a police officer who refused to interfere.

In her words, “Happening Now in my estate. One thug shot dead. More to come. Kudos to the men and women in my estate for standing their ground. personally beat a police woman. #situationrepo, Ago palace way.”

The lady has, however, deactivated her social media account following the claims and the reactions that trailed her confession to assault and murder witness. Reacting to the incident, the presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad emphasized that he is certain of the police taking an action on the lady and everyone involved. “I am confident that that lady, called Ijeoma, will definitely be apprehended by the security and prosecuted for beating a @PoliceNG officer as she admitted and aiding in murdering a voter at Star Times Estate, Ago palace, Okota. @OfficialDSSNG!” he wrote in a tweet. @BashirAhmaad here’s the video pic.twitter.com/soL6rTwCPi — AshShakur (@Olaleka37525592) March 18, 2023

“Take MC Oluomo’s threats as a joke” — Lagos Police spokesman

Nigeria Police Force reacts to the statement made by the Lagos State Parks Management Committee Chairman, Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, regarding his threats against Igbos in the state ahead of the governorship election.

A video had emerged online of MC Oluomo warning Igbos in Lagos State not to vote for any other political party except the All Progressives Congress, APC. During an appearance on Channels Television, the Lagos State Police Command spokesman, Adejobi Olumuyiwa, stated that MC Oluomo’s threats against Igbos was simply a joke. The Force Public Relations Officer emphasized that no one has the right to prevent the people of Lagos from voting for the candidate of their choice. Olumuyiwa further assured that he had begun an investigation into MC Oluomo’s provocative statements.

“I saw a video of MC Oluomo with one mama Chidinma – an Igbo woman debunking that threat, that it’s not true, it’s just a joke he was making with a particular woman. So, let us take it as a joke, like he said. “But, nobody has the right and audacity to tell Nigerians not to come out and vote; it’s not allowed and not proper. MC Oluomo has come out to debunk it, so let’s leave it that it’s not true. “The Commissioner of Police in Lagos had debunked it, and MC Oluomo himself has done the same, so Lagosians should go out and vote for the candidate of their choice,” he said. Police arrest Slay queen for allegedly defrauding online buyers with fake alerts

A slay queen has been arrested by the police for allegedly defrauding her online vendors using fake alerts.

According to reports, the lady who has been arrested has been in the scamming business since 2019. She is said to have been using fake alerts and four different Instagram accounts for the same purpose. Some people she has reportedly scammed include; Jennyglow, shoes, perfume, clothes, and hair vendors amongst other people. The case was reported to the authorities in Lagos where she was tracked down to Benin from Lagos. One of the victims, Biibi Luxury hair took to her Instagram and captioned her post, “The heart of man is wicked!!!!!
This lady has been ordering hairs from us with fake alerts for a while now, and I only got to know about it two weeks ago 😥. I reached out to some of my friends in the hair industry and I realized she has been doing this since 2019. This lady uses four different Instagram accounts to defraud people, she has scammed the likes of Jennysglow, shoes, perfume, clothes and hair vendors infact the list is long. I reported the situation to the right authorities in Lagos, and i tracked her down to Benin from Lagos(mind you she doesn’t have an address) it was quite hard to get her, but eventually we were able to nab her. I could have let this slide as usual but ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! To those impersonating me, by the time I am fully ready for you, you will really regret your actions.

Chaos as Navy officers clash with policemen at police station (Video)

A group of Navy officers stormed a police station to beat up some policemen who were on duty.

It was gathered from reports online that the incident occured at Enerhen police station in Warri on Friday March 10, 2023. The police officers had allegedly arrested a member of the Nigerian Navy and a newly commissioned naval officer and his team stormed the station to descend on them. The fracas had escalated, causing an unrest in the community as some shots rang out which led to shop owners and residents fleeing for dear life. Videos making the rounds on social media captures one of the policeman identified as Kingsley who had sustained a bloody nose fighting back one of the naval officer. Guardiola reacts to police investigation against Kyle Walker

Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola has spoken for the first time about Kyle Walker after a police investigation was launched following allegations of indecent exposure against him. The 32-year-old England international is alleged to have exposed himself in a Manchester bar over the weekend, while also touching a woman’s breasts. The right-back was seen in the CCTV footage arriving at the bar alongside a group of friends at around 5:20pm on Sunday, March 6. The video then also allegedly shows Walker kissing and grabbing one of his companions. He danced provocatively with one of them before trying to leave at 6.40pm with his friends. Though Cheshire Police confirmed on Thursday, March 9, that they were investigating the incident, no arrest has been made. When asked about the incident today, March 10, Guardiola said;

“It’s a private issue, we solve it internally, speak with him. This is not the place to speak about a private situation.” When asked if players need to be more careful now when they are out in public, Guardiola said; “Definitely. It’s a bit different now. They know it. When you open the door at home they need to know they will be filmed whatever they do. That is society.” Walker, who has four children, has been married to model and reality TV star Annie Kilner since November 2021. The couple, who were childhood sweethearts, have three sons together, Roman, Riaan, and Reign. They previously met when Waker was 19 years old and Kilner was 16 and were together for over nine years, splitting in May 2019 before later getting back together.

Some big boys have poked fun at the Nigerian police as they cruise in a convoy of pricey cars.

In a video which surfaced online, the big boys were seen riding in their modern whips on a busy road. One of the car occupants remarked on how clear the road was of police and they turned it to a song. They could be heard singing ‘no police’ as they made a mockery of the force, saying that it was because they couldn’t afford fuel to patrol the roads. Their convoy took the advantage of the police’s absence to drive at high speed as they snaked their way between other cars on the road. Watch the video below:

Contentious crossdresser, Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye better known as Bobrisky has gone through with his threat to arrest popular blogger, Tosin Silverdam.

It would be recalled that the human Barbie doll had seethed with anger after the media personality alleged that he’s using his househelps to shoot adult content. Bobrisky had outrightly denied the claim and dismissed it as fault while promising to deal with Tosin Silverdam.

Days following the online quarrel, Bobrisky shared a video of the blogger at a police study pitching his side of the story to the officers. Police declare Ebonyi APGA governorship candidate wanted

The governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance(APGA) in Ebonyi state, Ifeanyi Odoh, has been declared wanted by the police.

Ifeanyi and nine others were declared wanted on Monday, March 6, over the murder of a monarch, Igbokwe Ewa. The traditional ruler of the Umu-Ezekoha community in Ezza North local government area was killed in his hometown last Monday, by unknown gunmen. Ebonyi police spokesperson, Onome Onovwakpoyeya said in a statement; “The Ebonyi State Police Command has declared the under-listed persons wanted in connection with the murder of his Royal Highness Eze Christopher Igboke Ewa of Umu-Ezekoha Community in Ezza North.”

Others declared wanted include Samuel Onyekachi Aligwe, Peter Orogwu (aka one boy),Chukwudi Aliewa (aka Ezza), Chika Ezealigbo, Nnaemeka Egede (aka Champaign), Nnabuike Okohu, Ogobuchi Agbom (aka Okiri), Nonso Obasi, Ikechukwu Nwoba (aka Solid).
