Former Kaduna Senator, Shehu Sani has stirred massive reactions on Twitter after he recounted his experience at the Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison in Lagos State.

The former senator from Kaduna central recalled that while in the prison in the 90s, he had observed that visitors were not allowed to bring plantain or banana to female inmates on the grounds that they were ‘not good for their digestive system’.
In his words: “When we were in Kiri Kiri prison in the 90s,I observed that they don’t allow visitors to bring plantain or Banana to female inmates, when I asked why, they said it’s not good for their digestive system. I was enlightened.”
Netizens, however, reacted to his tweet with mixed views.
