A lecturer at the Afe Babalola University (ABUAD) leaves many laughing hysterically as he makes noisemakers dance to the music of their choice in front of the whole class. A video making the rounds on social media captured the unconventional approach used by a University lecturer to punish students.

The defaulters were said to have bothered the man’s class with noise and as punishment, he ordered them to dance and entertain the class. The visibly shy male students who were the noisemakers struggled to actually dance in an entertaining way, leaving the entire class laughing. The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has reacted to a viral video of a female corps member who was asked to kneel in school. The body said it is investigating the viral video which captured the corps member undergoing an embarassing punishment at her place of primary assignment. The video showed the young being punished for an offence which was not clearly explained. She was allegedly forced to kneel down by a school proprietress. According to the dialogue heard in the short footage, it seemed that the corps member was being punished for her failure to work. From the NYSC member’s claims in her native Yoruba dialect, she said she had alluded to menstruation symptoms. The proprietress argued that if she had explained, she would have understood because she is also a woman. The video however infuriated Nigerians who alleged a habit among employers of bullying corp members at their place of primary assignment (PPA).

Two secondary school students have been arrested by the Ondo State Security Network Agency for faking their own kidnap. On Monday, the pupils, ages 13 and 15, from JSS 3 and SSS 1 courses, confessed to the crime at the state headquarters of Amotekun Corps in Akure, the state capital. The children, who are siblings, said they meant to act to retaliate against their mother, whom they accused of mistreating them. The Commander of Amotekun Corps, Adetunji Adeleye, stated at the corps’ headquarters that an inquiry has commenced to determine the motivation for the siblings’ actions. He further stated that 28 other individuals were apprehended from other parts of the state. He said that the arrest was made possible by a joint patrol of his troops, the military, and other security organizations. “This is in continuation of our efforts to ensure that kidnapping in Ondo State becomes a thing of the past. We have people who kidnapped themselves and raised alarm, and in our diligent investigations, we were able to unravel the mystery surrounding the disappearance to the extent that they confessed. We have also kidnapped suspects of some very high-profile individuals in the society that we are working on,” he added.
