The man shared this on his Twitter account, @iam_diger, where another user asked people to share if they’ve been ever been arrested and how. The man explained how his friend came up to him with his girlfriend, begging if he had airtime on his phone as they wanted to call somebody urgently. He had given it to them so they stepped out to make a call, came back and gave it to him without telling him anything. Later that day, he received a text message from an unknown number begging him to release their daughter as he was just an ordinary secondary school principal without money. He disregarded it because he just assumed it was a wrong message. However two days later, he was tracked and arrested for kidnap but luckily for him, his father and the DPO were friends so they believed his story. The friend and girlfriend were found and they admitted to planning the whole thing, although by then he had spent 4 days in Police custody. They both conspired to fake her kidnap to get money out of her father but the father reported the case to the Police. He has not spoken to that friend since 2014 when the event occurred and he stays away from friends who are in love as according to him, they do not think straight.
