Guests at a traditional wedding in Okija, Anambra run for dear life as a swarm of bees swoops down on them and begins attacking them at the venue.

The incident was shared by an eyewitness who reported the story to an Instagram blogger. According to the reporter, he and his team had gone to Anambra for a traditional wedding gig. During the event, the elders refused giving the lady the palm to search for her husband among the crowd, as is customary in the culture. Their reason had been that the event had been set on the same day as the town’s market day, which is frowned upon. It was reported that a swarm of bees charged to the place and began attacking the guests, disrupting the event. A video shared online captures the guests run while swatting at the bees which trailed after them. The eyewitness wrote: “…this happened in Anambra Okija, My worst experience so far in okija anambara state where we went for a gig (traditional wedding) the elders refused to give the lady palm wine to search for her husband, because today was there market day, behold few minutes later bees from no where att®*cked all the kings men & it wasn’t funny sha” Watch the video below;

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), disclosed that April 15th has been designated as the date for the completion of all pending supplementary elections.

Rotimi Oyekanmi, the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman of INEC made this know in a statement released on Monday 27th March. The election is said to cover all pending polls including governorship, National and State Assembly across the country. “Arising from its meeting held today, the Independent National Electoral Commission has decided that all outstanding Governorship, National and State Assembly supplementary elections will take place on Saturday 15th April 2023,” the commission said. The Lagos State Ministry of Justice is set to charge Chrisland High School, Ikeja and some of its staff members with “Involuntary Manslaughter and Reckless and Negligent Acts” over the death of Whitney Adeniran.

According to a statement released by the Director of Public Affairs, will be facing charges for the death of a 12-year-old student, Whitney Adeniran, who passed away during a sports event on February 9, 2023. Lagos State’s statement charging Chrisland School for Involuntary Manslaughter “On the 9th of February 2023, Whitney Omodesola Adeniran a student of Chrisland High School, Ikeja aged 12 years, slumped during the Inter-house Sports organised by the School at the Agege Sports Stadium and was subsequently rushed to Agege Central Hospital, Agege, Lagos, where she was confirmed “brought in dead” (BID) by the doctor on duty. “The case was referred to the Nigerian Police Force which carried out a thorough investigation with the help of other agencies. The file was subsequently forwarded to the DPP’s Office on Monday 20th March, 2023, for review of the duplicate case file. “On the 23rd of March, 2023, the DPP issued his Legal Advice and came to the conclusion that a prima facie case of Involuntary Manslaughter and Reckless and Negligent Acts had been established against the school, some members of staff and one of the vendors. They will therefore be charged with the offences of Involuntary Manslaughter and Reckless and Negligent Acts contrary to Sections 224 & 251 of the Criminal Law, Ch C17, Vol.3, Laws of Lagos State, 2015. “Information will be filed in accordance with the legal advice issued by the DPP. Certified True Copies of the Legal advice are available on the Ministry of Justice website (www.lagosstatemoj.org.).”

Thomas Tuchel will soon be announced as the next manager of Bayern Munich following the sack of Julian Nagelsmann on Thursday, March 23. Nagelsmann was axed after Bayern lost 2-1 at Bayer 04 Leverkusen on Sunday, March 19, allowing Dortmund to move to the top of the Bundesliga table. The 35-year-old took charge in 2021 and led Bayern to their 10th German title in a row last season, but they have been unable to replicate that form, and the hierarchy have acted ahead of the Champions League quarter-finals next month. Popular journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that Bayern already has a full agreement in place with Tuchel, with final documents being prepared on Thursday night. The former Chelsea boss will be seeking to repeat the feat he achieved upon taking over mid-season at Stamford Bridge. Tuchel won the Champions League with Chelsea, just months into his tenure. He will inherit a talented squad that has underperformed domestically since losing Robert Lewandowski last summer. Tuchel was sacked by the Blues at the beginning of the Premier League campaign and replaced by Graham Potter. Since then, he has been linked to several jobs, including Real Madrid, where Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly on the brink of an exit. Should Bayern beat Manchester City, they could face Chelsea in the semi-finals if the Blues get past Real Madrid; meaning Tuchel would come up against his replacement Graham Potter on the touchline just months after his dismissal.
