FG postpones census indefinitely

Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said the incoming administration will determine if the census will hold.Mohammed further revealed that the postponement was approved by President Muhammadu Buhari after a meeting with some members of the Federal Executive Council and the Chairman of the National Population Commission.“President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the postponement of the 2023 Population and Housing Census, earlier scheduled for 3-7 May 2023, to a date to be determined by the incoming Administration.“The President gave the approval after meeting with some members of the Federal Executive Council and the Chairman of the National Population Commission and his team at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday (28 April 2023). “In arriving at the decision to postpone the Census, the meeting reiterated the critical need for the conduct of a Population and Housing Census, 17 years after the last Census, to collect up-to-date data that will drive the developmental goals of the country and improve the living standard of the Nigerian people. “The President noted that with the completion of the Enumeration Area Demarcation of the country, conduct of first and second pretests, the recruitment and training of adhoc workers, procurement of Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) and ICT infrastructures, appreciable progress has been made in the implementation of the 2023 Population and Housing Census. “He also commended the methodology being put in place by the Commission to conduct accurate and reliable Census, especially the massive deployment of technology that is capable of delivering world class Census and laying a sustainable basis for future censuses “The President further directed the Commission to continue with preparations for the conduct of the 2023 Population and Housing Census in order to sustain the gains already recorded and provide the basis for the incoming administration to consolidate these achievements. “The meeting was attended by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr Abubakar Malami; the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs Zainab Ahmed; the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed; the Minister of State, Budget and National Planning, Mr Clem Agba and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha.”

Semen donor ordered by court to stop after fathering 550 children

A Dutch court orders a sperm donor, Jonathan M. who is suspected of being the biological father of over 550 children to cease all further donations. This recent fertility scandal has caused shockwaves throughout the Netherlands, prompting a foundation dedicated to protecting the rights of donor children and the mother of one of the alleged offspring to take legal action against him.

Although Dutch clinical guidelines state that a donor should not father more than 25 children within 12 families, the judges found that Jonathan had contributed to the creation of approximately 550 to 600 children since he began donating sperm in 2007. Judge Thera Hesselink said on Friday, therefore, “prohibits the defendant from donating his semen to new prospective parents after the issuing of this judgement.” “With the wish that he was willing to donate semen… advertise his services to prospective parents or join any organisation that establishes contact between prospective parents.” “Should he continue with his donations, he would face a 100,000-euro ($110,000) fine for every transgression, as well as additional fines,” the court ruled. Eva, the mother of one of the children involved in the court case, expressed gratitude towards the court for halting the man’s mass sperm donation. “Mass donations have spread like wildfire to other countries. I’m asking the donor to respect our interests and to accept the verdict because our children deserve to be left alone,” she said in a statement.

According to the lady, her belly was growing, leaving her with the option of wearing a waist trainer. Unknown to her, she was carrying another baby which, however, struck her by surprise. In her video narration, she wrote; “Let’s talk abt how I got pregnant for 5 months without knowing. Few months after giving birth to my daughter, I was growing lean but I thought it was bcoz I was doing exclusive breastfeeding.

I had not yet menstruated which is normal. No sickness, not even a sign of pregnancy. My daughter was growing very well despite my hidden pregnancy. I was putting on waist trainers each very time without knowing I was pregnant.

Popular influencer, Ashmusy buys two of her staff of 5 years cars to appreciate them for their loyalty and service. The brand ambassador, who was accused of having an affair with senator Dino Melaye, took to her Instagram page to share the moment she presented the Toyota cars to her workers.

The cars had been parked in the compound where she lives and she explained that the staff have no idea that the cars would soon be theirs; she added that they had been very loyal and of immense help to her. When she called one of the staff out and told her that the car was hers, she was overwhelmed and stunned to disbelief.

400-level LAUTECH student found dead days after being declared missing

Oluwatobi Ogunmola, a student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), who had been reported missing a few days ago, has been discovered dead. According to a reliable source on campus who spoke to The Punch, Ogunmola’s body was found hanging in a bush in Gambari, Ogbomoso, within the Surulere Local Government area of Oyo State.

In addition to being a Physics student in LAUTECH, Ogunmola was also known to work as a mobile phone technician and solar system consultant. Mourning his passing, a Facebook friend of his, Adeleke Abel Ayoade wrote; “In time like this, we sympathise with the family of Ogunmola Taiwo on the death of (their) son who was found dead. The death came as a shock to everyone especially the people of Gambari in Ogbomoso. “Very calm and reserved brother. We pray God to console the family and rest the soul of the deceased.”
