A tragic incident took place in the Sabon gari area of Zaria, Kaduna State where a family of eight, including a couple and their six children, lost their lives in a fire that destroyed their home. The incident occurred on February 23, 2023, around 2 am in the Hayin Ojo area while the family was asleep. According to a report from Daily Trust, Mallam Junaidu Mohammed, a neighbour, confirmed the tragic incident on Friday. “Though we could not ascertain the cause of the inferno, it started around 2am on Thursday when everybody was asleep. “But we could not rescue the family alive. All efforts to get the fire service to the scene were not successful. We didn’t see firefighters until we buried the victims,” Mohammed stated. Elder brother of the deceased father, Adamu Mohammed, said, “Those who lost their lives in the inferno include his late brother, Mallam Rabi’u Mohammed and his wife, Fatima. Others were his six children, Rabiatu, Ibrahim, Abubakar, Hauwa’u, Hindatu and Baby Umar, who was about 34 days old. We actually could not identify the cause of the fire, but the whole house was completely burnt.” All the possessions in the house were entirely destroyed. The deceased family members were laid to rest in accordance with Islamic customs.
8 Madonna University students die in an accident
About eight Madonna University students have reportedly died in a fatal accident while on their way to Taraba State.
According to reports gathered the incident happened on Saturday, February 18th, 2023. The students were said to have been sent home in the wake of the upcoming general elections. A source who shared the information reports that the accident happened at TTC/Special Science school junction along the trans-Saharan road, Abakaliki, Ebonyi state. The bus conveying the students was said to have caught a fight and got burnt beyond recognition. After the accident, eight have been reported dead while ten students have reportedly survived and were rushed to the Alex Ekwueme Teaching Hospital Hospital in Ebonyi State. One of the parents of the deceased took to his page to express pain over the loss of his daughter. He wrote; “Grace Usman Ezra, I never knew sending you to Madonna university will lead to your untimely dead.18 of you left Madonna to jalingo yesterday only to hear the news that your bus had an accident and caught fire,8 out of 18 came out from the bus. It is well with 10 of you and the rest that are alive,I pray for your speedy recovery and my God comfort us all that lost our children.”
Skit maker Favour Daniels ‘Amama’ dies in boat accident
Nigerian skit maker Favour Daniels, also known as Amama, has tragically died at the age of 26 after being involved in a boat accident on Sunday, February 5th.
Her passing was confirmed by her sister on Instagram, where she expressed her grief and mourning. The circumstance of the tragic incident, however, remains unknown. In a post via Instagram, Favour’s sister wrote; “It is with a heavy heart but in total submission to the will of our CreatedI wish to announce the passing of my youngest sister Favour Agiounim Daniels, known and loved by so many. Nickname Omoge, Amama, Omo, small pin charger and the names goes on!!!!! My Amama, my baby girl I will miss you. I call her my shining light, she was simply beautiful. She had a boat accident on 5th of February 2023. She has now taken her rightful place in the one room with her Creator. I know that for sure. The giver of life I can’t question your decision.”
Nigerian student dies following fatal accident in U.K
A 33-year-old Nigerian student, Chinenye Vera Okonkwo, dies after she was critically injured following an accident involving two vehicles in Glasgow city centre, U.K. According to the police, a woman was taken into custody in relation to the accident in which Ms. Okonkwo, a master’s student in Public Health at Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) was pronounced dead on the spot. In a statement, released by the force, the student’s family said: “Chinenye was a wonderful, kind, intelligent young woman with a strong faith in God. She had a passion to succeed and whatever obstacles she faced were overcome. “She was very family-oriented and always had time for everyone. Our lives will never be the same without her.” The late Nigerian had been a student in Glasgow since January last year.
Charles Okocha involved in accident at 3rd Mainland bridge
Nigerian actor, Charles Okocha, popularly known as ‘Igwe 2Pac’ has been admitted in the hospital after getting involved in a ghastly car accident. The father of two took to Instagram to express his gratitude to God for saving his life while sharing photos of himself on a hospital bed.
He also shared a short video clip from the accident scene. According to the actor, the incident took place on the Third Mainland bridge. He wrote: ”Thankful for life. Was involved in a car accident on 3rd mainland bridge last night but GOD DID!!! We Asaaaaa still.” See the post below:
Tears as female corps member dies in tragic accident on her way to Akwa Ibom (Photo)
A female corper who identified as Nwaeze Charity Ogonnaya has reportedly lost her life while on her way to her state of deployment.
Reports gathered that the corps member who is currently serving in Akwa Ibom state lost her life getting into an accident on her way to the state.
It was confirmed that the lady embarked on the journey from Ebonyi state but met her death in Abia state on Wednesday, the 4th of January 2023.
The corper’s remains was immediately taken to her hometown as friends and family mourned her unexpected demise.
A friend of the deceased who broke the news to other corps members in the state also revealed that an unidentified person also died on the spot.
The lady added that she left the deceased at the park in Ebonyi state and boarded a different bus.
She said:
“Someone died on the spot. I don’t know her name. It’s Charity I know because I left her at the park. I entered a different bus.”
My car was spinning for 12 seconds — Ayo Silver grateful for surviving ghastly accident (Video)
Nigerian actor Ayo Silver has shown his gratitude to God for being alive after surviving a ghastly accident.
The actor has shared photos of his smashed car which looked unrecognizable. According to Ayo Silver, a truck rammed into his car which caused it to spin for 12 seconds before somersaulting.
Ayo Silver disclosed that he was returning from inspecting a portion of land in Moniya Ibadan when a trailer ran over him and left his car spinning.
Sharing photos of his damaged car and his current status in the hospital, Ayo Silver wrote;
“To be precise coming from where I went to inspect a portion of land in moniya Ibadan and almost back home in Lagos @magboro bus stop a trailer ran me over and left my car spinning for almost 12 secs and I saw a movie how my breath left my lungs and I had every of my journey flashed through my eyes 👀 n split of secs.
But the lesson I got that day was ‘anything and everything could be taken away from us at any moment WHEK you least expected it “ BUT MY GOD SAVED AND I WILL FOREVER TESTIFY TO GOD’s Awesomeness.”

Young man and his wife escape a fire accident after their car went up in flames while on the highway a few days before Christmas.
A video making rounds on social media captured the moment a car went up in flames and burnt ashes by the highway.
The owner and his wife who escaped the incident shared the video on social media while emphasizing gratitude to God.
He could be heard in the video expressing what-ifs while watching the car go from a fully functional vehicle to a metal scrap.
“Why won’t I worship God; what if I had died,” he said in the background.

Frodd survives car accident (Video)
Big Brother Naija star, Chukwuemeka Okoye, popularly known as Frodd has glorified God after surviving a motor accident.
The young entrepreneur took to his Instagram page to narrate how his tyre ripped off on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos and subsequently shared a video of the moment he got assisted by some LASTMA personnel who helped him fix a spare tyre.
He further appreciated their kind gesture and hailed the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his good works in the state.
Frodd also shared photos of the men who offered him help.
Captioning the post, he wrote:
“God is the greatest and There are still good men ….
My tires ripped off on Third mainland bridge this evening . I drove to a safe spot whilst I pondered on what just happened, it could have been worse ( I praise God ) Then came some good men , swift and quick ( I didn’t even use the emergency 🆘 toll ) They came down and offered to help me . I am grateful to God for his protection and I pray he rewards the kindness the Lastma men offered me in Ten Thousand folds and May he bless their children’s hand works @jidesanwoolu This men are Noble and Honorable … ( I’d be posting them on the next slide )

Cameroonian actor dies in Lagos-Ibadan Expressway accident weeks after AMVCA win
Nigerian-based Cameroonian factor, Edgard Leroy is dead
He died in an accident at the Sagamu area of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway way on Saturday.
His death comes shortly after he won an award for Best Indigenous Movie (Yoruba) Category at the last AMVCA.
Announcing his death, colleague, David Akande, on his Instagram page said, Leroy was heading to Ibadan to a movie location when he had a fatal accident.
David wrote: “Good night Edgard Leroy, my brother, friend and partner. I love you
“On the 11th day of June 2022, a ghastly motor accident on Lagos Ibadan Expressway, precisely at Shagamu, cut short the life of one of Africa’s fast-rising filmmakers, Cameroonian-born Edgard Le Roy Nouke Ngedemon.
“Born on the 13th of July 1995, this amazing Director, editor and motion graphics artist was the first from his country to win the highly respected AMVCA award. And just a few weeks shy of his 27th birthday… this is the sad story of a life cut at its prime.”
