Canada-based Nigerian lawyer, Ayokunle Odekunle loses battle to cancer

Social media users mourn as a renowned Nigerian lawyer based in Canada, Ayokunle Odekunle loses life after succumbing to stage 4 cancer. The news of the lawyer’s passing was announced on the microblogging platform, X, where he was notable for his professional tips.

Announcing his demise on Saturday, one X user, @KayceeMaduYEG, tweeted, “It is with profound sadness that I bring to you that our dear brother, friend, and colleague Ayokunle Odekunle, @oddy4real, lost his courageous battle with stage 4 cancer.” According to reports, Odekunle served as a solicitor and barrister at Queck & Associates Law Office in Alberta, Canada. He was a graduate of the University of Ibadan in Oyo State in 2011 with a law degree, Odekunle was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 2012. In 2023, he received a call to the Alberta Bar. Having worked at Nigeria’s leading commercial litigation firm, Kenna Partners, Odekunle gained a reputation as a successful litigator, representing multiple global corporations in high-profile lawsuits in Nigeria, all of which he won. Ayokunle’s legal practice focused on various areas, including family law, immigration, wills and estates, and general litigation. Odekunle is survived by his spouse and children.

A young Nigerian woman who struggled with childbirth expresses overwhelming joy as she welcomes her baby after years of struggle with a hormone problem, PCOS. A Tiktok user identified as @theeblkbradshaw took to the platform to narrate how she almost lost hope after being told she may never have a child.

After many nights of tears and prayer, her prayers were answered and she welcomed a beautiful baby girl whose smile is as bright as sunshine. Sharing the video, she wrote, “Doctors: You have PCOS so becoming and staying pregnant can be tough.” Many battling the same condition have since been inspired as they flood her page to quiz on the medical approach taken to have her baby. Sevilla are reportedly entering the race for Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, a Barcelona target for the 2024 summer transfer window. Funke Akindele announces home release of movie, Battle on Buka Street, for fans

Nollywood actress Funke Akindele, known for her box office record-breaking movies, has announced that her latest film, Battle on Buka Street, will soon be available for viewers who cannot watch it in cinemas. The mother of two took to her Instagram stories to share a clip from the movie, revealing that she would be bringing it to fans’ homes soon.

Akindele, however, did not disclose the date, timing, or platform for the release of the film. Earlier this week, it was reported that Battle on Buka Street has broken the record for the highest-grossing Nollywood movie of all time.

The film has grossed 640 million naira, beating Akindele’s 2020 movie, Omo Ghetto the Saga, which grossed 636 million naira.
