Governor Ortom defeated in senatorial election by APC candidate

Governor Samuel Ortom of the Peoples Democratic Party has lost his senatorial bid to Titus Zam of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate.

Rufus Shaato, the returning officer for Benue north-west senatorial election, announced on Monday, February 27, that Zam raked in 143,151 votes to defeat Ortom who got 106,882 votes. Governor Ortom was part of a five-member group of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) “G-5 governors” who are at loggerheads with the national leadership of the party.

Ortom had also said earlier that he is ready to lose his senatorial bid to ensure Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) wins the 2023 presidential election.

Abia speaker loses House of Reps election to Labour Party candidate

Chinedum Orji, Speaker of Abia House of Assembly has lost the House of Representatives election for Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency to a Labour Party candidate.

Orji, who is the son of the former Governor Theodore Orji, contested on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, but lost to the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Obi Aguocha. The Returning Officer, Uma Oke, said the LP candidate polled 48,199 votes to defeat Mr Orji of the PDP, who scored 35,196.

Ogbonnaya Obilor of APC had 4,042 votes, while Ogbonna Abariukwu of APGA got 2,758. Obinna Nwosu of ADC scored 2386, while Friday Chimaobi of YPP polled 1013 votes. Patience Okorie of NNPP got 644 votes; Christian Ibekwe Christian of NRM got 68 and Nnamdi Ogbuagu of APP scored 347.

Banky W loses house of representatives election to Labour Party candidate

Candidate of Labour Party, Thaddeus Attah, has defeated music star and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Banky W, to clinch Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.

Labour Party’s Attah polled 24,075 votes, beating his counterparts, Olubankole Wellington (Banky W) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who had 18,666 votes, and Babajide Obanikoro of the APC, who had 16, 901 votes. Babajide, who is a son of former Minister of Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, is the current lawmaker representing the constituency.

Attah was declared winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission Returning Officer, Prof Funmilayo Odukoya on Sunday, February 26, at the Collation Centre, Lagos State Model Nursery and Primary School, Marwa, Lekki.

Popular skit maker, Ashmusy has revealed that she declined an offer of 20 million naira to endorse a particular politician in the coming elections.

The influencer who was recently accused of having an affair with Dino Melaye revealed this in a post on her Instagram page. She confessed that she had been approached with an offer of 10 to 20 million naira to make a political advert endorsing a particular candidate that nobody likes. Ashmusy revealed that the offer was indeed tempting but she realized that by taking such money, she’d be selling her soul and that of her family. Labour Party Senatorial candidate, Oyibo Chukwu reportedly killed in Enugu (Video)

News reaching NigezieXtreme.com says that the Senatorial candidate for the Labour Party, Chief Oyibo Chukwu has been shot and killed at Enugu.

According to the report, the lawyer was said to have been attacked by some unknown gunmen while returning from a campaign trip. He was reported shot, killed and burnt in his car.

Chief Barr. Oyibo Chukwu was said to have gained popularity amongst the people of Enugu East. He was contesting the position of Senatorial candidate for the Labour Party alongside his other opponents Chimaroke Nnamani of PDP and Ada Ogbu of the APC. Watch the video below…..

Nollywood actress, Erica Nlewedim silences internet trolls who are constantly on about who she supports in the forthcoming 2023 elections.

The social media sensation took to her official Twitter page where she bore her thoughts. According to Erica, “if knowing who I support but not active! campaigning means I’m sitting on the fence then I’ll gladly sit.”
Erica disclosed that she would not be touching on subjects regarding politics, as her choice of candidate in the 2023 election remains her personal decision.

Falzs shares election advise with youth, names preferred candidate

Nigerian rapper Falz has shared a piece of advice to the youth while naming his preferred candidate as the elections approach.

The rapper has advised the youth on procrastination and making excuses for not casting their votes adding that it is time to decide their fate. Falz in an online video advised young people to ignore any message of discouragement from anyone from voting but instead focus on the goal of determining who rules. He also endorsed Peter Obi‘s Labour Party describing the party as a “formidable third force”. He said; Oya election don come oooo this is my PVC, I’m sure you have yours and you are ready to vote. I don’t want to hear any of that rubbish that my vote will not count, so what’s the point of voting? Oh God, please nobody should annoy me, this is 2023, with everything we’re going through, if there are still some people saying that, then really and truly I don’t know what is wrong with them. Somehow, we have been able to gather momentum, unbelievable momentum for this formidable 3rd force. I say to you it is very possible, forget about all those pessimists, all those cynics that are coming to you, all those irresponsible people that apparently love to suffer and want to keep this status quo forget about those people and just focus on the goal. Wife of PDP’s presidential candidate, Titi Abubakar urges Nigerians to vote APC (Video)

Titi Abubakar, the wife of the PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, urges Nigerians to get their voter’s card and vote for the opposition party, APC.

The internet is set ablaze following Titi Abubakar’s gaffe during a rally where she called on voters to support a different party.
In her words, “By the 25th of February, everybody should come, if you have not collected your PVC, go and collect your PVC… we should vote APC; APC promised to do so many things for the country but we can see ourselves now the way we are.”
This has stirred reactions across social media; one of which the Spokesperson for APC 2023 Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo capitalised on.
In a tweet, Festus Keyamo wrote;
“Wife to Atiku, Titi Abubakar, has just urged Nigerians to vote APC on February 25th next year. In all honesty, this is obviously a slip of tongue, but we hold the view that it is unreasonable to make a mountain out of such molehills, especially when you quickly correct yourself!”

Highly-rated thespian, Funke Akindele has officially confirmed reports that she is the running mate of the Lagos State PDP gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Olajide Adediran.
In a recent video shared via her official Instagram page on Tuesday, July 12, the mother of two announced her bold step of venturing into politics while putting her entertainment career on hold.

The thespian pledged to work alongside the Governor to see that the interest of youths and women are ably represented peradventure they assume the office come 2023.
She said,
“I saw it as an opportunity to help liberate and improve the wellbeing of our people, particularly the deprived youth, women, and the girl child.
“My decision is not just to accept this huge responsibility but to also work tirelessly and complement Jandor’s burning desire to see our dear Lagos live up to its full potential.”
However, at the end video, while reintroducing herself, Funke Akindele omitted ‘Bello’ (her estranged husband’s name).
