He posted: “We will always be together brother. Raise your head, we have a lot ahead of us.” Estaremos sempre juntos, irmão!! Levanta a cabeça, temos muito pela frente!! 👊🏽👊🏽 @Casemiro pic.twitter.com/QiSQmF50oP — Antony Santos (@antony00) March 12, 2023 This would be a big blow to Erik ten Hag and United as Casemiro has become a key player for the Red Devils in his first season at the club. The Brazilian will now miss United’s next four games including the FA Cup quarter-final against Fulham and Premier League matches against Newcastle, Brentford and Everton after the international break.
I won’t comment on Casemiro’s red card
Crystal Palace coach Patrick Vieira refused to give a comment on the red card shown to Manchester United star, Casemiro during a match on Saturday, February 4. It was reported earlier that Casemiro who will now miss three Manchester United matches, was shown the red card for choking Crystal Palace’s midfielder Will Hughes in a brawl that occurred during the match which ended 2-1 in favour of the Red Devils. When asked for his comment on it, Vieira said he won’t be giving any because he doesn’t want to be punished by the Football Association. He told BBC Sport; “I was too far away to see it. I don’t want to get involved in that. I don’t want to get fined or suspended, so I will wait for your next question.” Vieira’s side will hope to get their first win in six matches when they take on Brighton next week, while United will meet Leeds on February 8.
Joao Felix’s red card against Fulham will cost Chelsea £2.1M
The red card shown to Joao Felix on his Premier League debut for Chelsea against Fulham on Thursday, January 13, will cost the London-based club a whooping £2.1M.
Felix was shown a red card over a high tackle on a Fulham defender, Kenny Tete, during the match which the Cottagers won 2-1. This is coming after Chelsea agreed to pay a loan fee of £9m in a 6-month deal with Atletico Madrid for Felix. The London club will also cover Felix’s wages during his spell in west London, estimated to be worth £6m. It is expected the deal will cost Chelsea £15m in the remaining 21 Premier League games, including Thursday’s defeat to Fulham.
Chelsea will be paying £714,286 per game to have Felix as part of their squad as they aim to recover from a disastrous start to the season that has seen them hanging at the 10th position. Following the red card, Felix will now miss the Blues’ Premier League games with Liverpool, Fulham, and West Ham. This three-game suspension for Felix will cost his new club £2,142,858.
The hits keep coming – Graham Potter reacts to Joao Felix’s red card
Chelsea’s coach, Graham Potter has reacted to loanee, Joao Felix being shown a red card on his Premier League debut against Fulham on Thursday, January 12. Felix lasted less than an hour before he was shown a straight red card for a high tackle on Fulham’s full-back, Kenny Tete. The match ended 2-1 in favour of the Cottagers. Speaking to reporters after the match, Potter said Joao Felix’s red card is “another hit” to his squad. The coach who appeared visibly exhausted after yet another league defeat, however, insisted that the newcomer was “really good” on his debut. Potter said; “It was a forwards tackle, there was no malice in it but I understand why it was a red. It is another blow, the hits keep coming at the moment. He was really good, you could see his quality in the game, so it is doubly disappointing for us. “I think we controlled the game early, won the ball back high, created some opportunities and maybe missed the last pass. We made a couple of mistakes for their goal. Second-half I think we responded well and then the red card changes the game… We’ve got to keep working, there are no other solutions.”
