Man calls out Gen Z for using mental health as cover for wrong
A Nigerian man has shared his opinion on mental health which has recently been used by the Gen Z population, calling it an excuse for bad behavior. The man made his opinion public via a podcast, The Shade corner, with a group of his friends. He is of the opinion that the word ‘Mental health’ has now become bastardized. Most people use it to dodge accountability, propagate bad behavior and skip work. However, a friend at the podcast disagreed with his opinion, claiming that although some people use it as a coverup, mental health is real and should be given attention to. He related it to physical health while claiming that if one is sick physically, it takes a while for the illness to progress before death and that is how mental health illnesses like Depression work. Kim Kardashian’s ex-lover, Pete Davidson struggles with mental health
Beloved actor and comedian Pete Davidson who once had a relationship with reality star, Kim Kardashian, is seeking professional treatment for his ongoing battle with mental health issues. A source close to the star confirmed to People Magazine that Davidson, 29, voluntarily checked himself into a treatment center and is expected to complete his program soon.
Pete Davidson Initial reports from Page Six broke the news, revealing that Davidson opted for in-patient therapy to address the lingering effects of post-traumatic stress disorder and his previous diagnosis of borderline personality disorder. Sources close to the comedian shared that Davidson frequently takes such proactive measures to work on his mental health, while also highlighting the unwavering support he receives from his friends and family during these challenging times. Davidson has been widely recognized for his openness about his struggles with mental health. Back in 2017, he opened up in an interview on Marc Maron’s WTF podcast. During the conversation, he shed light on the events leading up to his diagnosis and his past stint in rehab in December 2016. Davidson candidly discussed his experiences with extreme mood swings, initially attributing them to regular marijuana use. However, he later received a diagnosis of BPD, which shed light on the underlying causes. “I found out I have BPD, which is borderline personality disorder,” Davidson shared. “One of my psychiatrists diagnosed me. He was always saying before this big meltdown, ‘You’re probably bipolar or borderline, we’re just going to have to figure it out.’” Despite his struggles, Davidson remains hopeful and acknowledges the positive impact therapy has had on his life. “It is working, slowly but surely,” he revealed. “I’ve been having a lot of problems. This whole year has been a f—ing nightmare. This has been the worst year of my life, getting diagnosed with this and trying to figure out how to learn with this and live with this.” In a lighter moment, Davidson even poked fun at his own experiences with sobriety and rehab during an appearance on SNL’s “Weekend Update.” Yet, it is clear that the comedian takes his mental health seriously and is committed to managing it. Furthermore, he openly discussed the importance of seeking professional help for depression and emphasized the impact of a healthy lifestyle. Last year, Davidson faced additional challenges when he sought further trauma therapy due to relentless online bullying from Kanye West following Davidson’s relationship with West’s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian. Most recently, while promoting his new series Bupkis, Davidson reflected on the complexities of appearing on SNL, where his personal life and romantic relationships often became comedic material. He expressed gratitude for the support he received from the show’s cast and crew, particularly executive producer Lorne Michaels, but acknowledged the inherent difficulties of navigating the entertainment industry. Davidson’s vulnerability in sharing his struggles highlights the toll that public scrutiny can take on one’s mental well-being. As fans rally behind Pete Davidson, they applaud his bravery for seeking rehab and proactively addressing his mental health challenges. The comedian’s openness has not only helped destigmatize mental health issues but has also shed light on the importance of self-care and seeking professional help.

Plus knowing that my life has changed. I’m just trying to adjust so many things, so I needed that time, I didn’t want to just be overwhelmed and must breakdown or something, that was the best thing.”

“What a journey it has been for me, I’m filled with so many emotions.
I’m happy and thankful to @bigbronaija @dstvnigeria for the opportunity given to me to be on the show.
First as you all know, I came into biggie’s house 2 weeks late.
I stayed in the lockdown house longer than others did. One full month in there, God’s grace kept me there…
it was a long journey for my self @michael042sm @mrkayvee we thank God finally we got in. Thank you biggie 🤗
I can recall my stay in the lock down house. All I did was cry, pray, work out, look out the window, and wish I could step out.. unfortunately I couldn’t. That was when I realized what freedom really meant. I was literally running mental. I was loosing my mind. My anxiety was dealing with me. I wanted to give up. I wanted to go back home to my mom. But then one thing kept ringing in my head. Who will believe my story. That I was close to getting into biggie’s house but I opted out. Literally No one lol.
Secondly Queen do you really want to give up after coming this close, do you want to do this next year? The answer was No. So I fought my anxiety, I fought my fears, I fought the noises in my head that kept telling me to quit and I made it to the house💃.”
