The Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi dissociates himself from the #EndINEC and #EndNigeria protest planned by his supporters, Obidients.
Obidients in their different groups had planned a mega rally nationwide scheduled for the 20th of March to protest the outcome of the February 25th elections. Addressing the proposed protest, Obi restated his position to fight the electoral process via due process while accusing the opposition parties of being behind the #EndINEC and #EndNigeria protests.
In a series of tweets, he emphasized that the issue of his stolen mandate is presently before the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET). Peter Obi on #EndINEC and #EndNigeria Protest “My attention has been drawn to social media postings suggesting that a nation-wide groundswell “#ENDINEC”, “#ENDNigeria” Protest is being planned by the Obidients. We are aware that those postings are being orchestrated by the Opposition. My position is clear: Without prejudice to constitutional dictates on freedom of speech and freedom of assembly, I have publicly stated that in the matter of reclaiming our stolen mandate, we shall do so robustly, via the Courts and Due Process. Regardless of the misgivings many may have about our Judiciary, we must strive to build strong and resilient institutions, of which the Judiciary is one. As a firm believer in the separation of powers between the three arms of government, I am conscious that every so often, the Judiciary is called upon to vindicate itself on epochal national public-interest issues. The matter presently before the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET) is one such litmus test case. Therefore, we are committed to pursuing Due Process in an unfettered manner. Accepting the Judgment of the Court, Obi says; “Issues about the election will be sorted out in court. I will be shocked if this country goes on with that situation. It will then stand that it is a corporate criminalized country. We can’t allow it. We need to start unbundling this criminality. “When people were talking about structure, it is this fraud and criminality that we witnessed that they were talking about, and we want to unbundle it for the sake of our children.” “Until we get it right, until justice is done, we can’t talk about government of national unity. We should get things done rightly, and I am sure that the judiciary will do the right thing.” 
The student was said to have been given a note, signed by the Principal of the school to go home. It was further stated in the note that the student was sent home to go and “campaign for Peter Obi against Lagos state” This news was shared on Twitter by a user and it has been confirmed by another user, who claimed she is also in Epe and confirmed the principal’s signature. During an interview on Arise TV’s ‘The Morning Show’ on Monday, Peter Obi expressed that doing the right thing was God’s desire. Obi stated that he holds great respect for notable Nigerians, including clerics and traditional rulers but to agree to the loss is impossible. “I disagree with them. What they’re actually preaching is the problem of Nigeria. The problem of Nigeria is accepting wrongdoing, accepting what is unacceptable…that is using God’s name in vain. That’s not what God says.” He continued, “What they’re saying is not God’s wish. It is not God’s plan for Nigeria. Why don’t we accept that the 133 million Nigerians who are poor is God’s wish? Why don’t we accept that 95 million Nigerians living in…poverty is God’s wish? It is God’s wish that we don’t have electricity. It is God’s wish that our children are kidnapped. It is God’s wish that we have collapsed primary healthcare leading us to be the country with the highest (rate of) infant mortality… That’s not what God says. God’s wish is when you do the right thing.” Obi commented that the election procedures had clear regulations that, if adhered to, would prevent reason to challenge the process. He continued, “it would have been concluded in a matter of hours without anybody arguing about it. But it is not God’s wish that you do the wrong thing.” “It is not God’s wish that you go and rob a train and make money and start sharing it… This is what is killing the country. People come here, take public money and then go and give it to people in the Church…and they say it’s God’s wish…that is what we’re fighting. That’s what we want to stop. “We want God’s wish to be truly God’s wish. And that is when we do the right things and God gives His blessings. “What do you tell the young ones growing up? That it’s God’s wish that you steal? That is God’s wish that you conduct a wrong election? So, tell me the difference between those of us who are doing this and the armed robbers,” Obi said. Obi noted that he wants “God to allow us to do the right things so we can start building a better country for our children.” 
During a courtesy visit by the National Executive Committee of Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo Worldwide at the Government House in Port Harcourt, Wike, who expressed his satisfaction with power shifting to the south, insisted that he did not work against Peter Obi during the 25th February 2023 presidential election. He further explained that he strongly advocated for a Southern president and that Obi’s decision to depart from the PDP occurred after Sule Lamido informed him that power would remain in the North in 2023. These remarks were conveyed by the governor’s media aide, Kelvin Ebiri. Wike on Why Peter Obi left PDP “I supported that power must come to the south. When Obi came here, I gave him all the logistics; vehicles, and other support and paid for the stadium, but some other persons applied and I refused. You should know me too well by now.” “Obi was running with us. I knew when Obi left. He was principled and he said he can’t stand it, people should say the truth. He went to see Sule Lamido in Jigawa, not in Dutse, but in a village that will take you more than four or five hours drive from Dutse the capital. “You know what he told Obi? He didn’t tell him that look, you came late and I have chosen somebody. He said it is the north that will produce the next president. That was how Obi left saying why is he wasting time. Ask him, that’s how he left PDP.” “And that was what I saw at the convention ground. Within minutes, knowing that I was going to win, your sons were all the ones who did everything and sabotaged me. I said ok, no problem. “But I still maintained that look, if you have taken the presidential candidate you can’t take chairmanship again, give us back the chairman and I still stand by that and if you don’t do that whatever you see you take.” Watch the video below …
