Mr Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, has said that he will not celebrate his 62nd birthday anniversary with the current deplorable state of Nigeria. Obi in a statement on Monday appealed to his friends, family members and those who may desire to celebrate him with gifts to look around them and extend the gesture to the people in need. In the statement shared via Twitter, Obi noted that there is far too much insecurity, violence, and bloodshed in the country,’ Obi said he would want to celebrate in a Nigeria that works for all and which Nigerians can be proud of, claiming it is the true celebration that will benefit all Nigerians. Obi stated, ”Wednesday, 19th July 2023, marks my 62nd birthday. While I remain immensely grateful to God for His infinite mercies, I still maintain my decision of over 20 years that I will not celebrate my birthdays in today’s Nigeria, with the current deplorable state of the nation. ”However, some friends, members of the Labour Party, and the OBIdient Family and supporters have asked how they can join me in celebrating that day and even present some gifts. ”Let me humbly and respectfully appeal to all those who desire to celebrate me with any kind of gifts to look around them and extend such gifts to the people in need, especially in these difficult times. ”I urge them to visit hospitals, orphanages, and homes for the aged and people with disabilities and offer them generous gifts. They can also visit schools of basic studies in remote areas and support them with the basic amenities they need. ”Those who wish to do more can visit various IDP camps in different parts of the country. I intend to do the same thing. Aside from sharing my time and resources with the less fortunate people around me, I plan to raise money for schools, hospitals, etc. ”I have already said that the sacrifices for a better Nigeria must now start from us, the leaders and the well-placed. The state of our nation must give us cause to pause and ponder. There is far too much insecurity, violence, and bloodshed.”

Reno Omokri confirms Tinubu attended Chicago State University
A socio-political activist, Reno Omokri, has confirmed that President Bola Tinubu attended and graduated from the Chicago State University. On Friday, the PEPC received a transcript from South West College, which was used to gain admission into Chicago State University by someone named Tinubu, who was identified as female. The transcript was admitted as evidence.
The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his party tendered the document along with other documents to prove the allegations in their joint petition challenging Tinubu’s declaration as the winner of the February 25 presidential election. Reacting, Omokri cautioned the PDP, saying Tinubu should not be attacked based on lies because God will lift him above his attackers. The staunch ally of Atiku stressed that Tinubu graduated with honours from the Chicago State University. Tweeting, Omokri wrote: “I worked for Waziri Atiku Abubakar to win. I pray he unseats Tinubu at the Presidential Election Petition Court. And I am not pursuing any political appointment or job offer from Tinubu. “However, it is false to assert that Bola Tinubu did not attend Chicago State University. I went there physically. I did a video broadcast from their campus. I met their officials. Tinubu attended and graduated from Chicago State University with honours, and they even have a photo of him in their alumni office as one of their most accomplished alumni. “Not only did I go there physically to expose Tinubu (only to find out that he attended), I also asked their registry to put what they told me in writing. “Attached is the letter they gave me. You can also go there physically, as I did, or email or phone them if you doubt this letter given to me. “The man is no saint. His past cartel links indelibly taint him. But let us be fair, honest and transparent as we oppose him. If we attack Tinubu based on lies, God will just disappoint us further and appoint him greater.”

However, three weeks ago, Dokubo mobilized Niger Delta youths to attend the sessions of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal in Abuja. As a staunch supporter of Tinubu, he publicly urged Nigerians to hold the President accountable if his administration fails to deliver. He specifically highlighted the discontinuation of fuel subsidies and asserted that Tinubu has accomplished more in this aspect within a few weeks of his administration compared to former Presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari. “If Ahmed Bola Tinubu fails, hold me responsible. I am unapologetic. “I have known him since 1992 and I know what he stands for, and can stand in the gap between him and the people and say this. “This is a step my brother Goodluck failed to take when he had the opportunity. The same step Buhari could not take and Tinubu took it from his first day at the office,” he said.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio and chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State met with President Bola Tinubu at the State House, Abuja on Tuesday after the inauguration of the 10th Senate. This is coming after Akpabio’s emergence as the country’s Senate President of the 10th National Assembly today.
Senator Godswill Akpabio Recall that on Monday, the Imo Governor who chaired a small technical committee to help coordinate the process of Tuesday’s election in the Senate and the House of Representatives said his team is hopeful of a landslide victory for the Akpabio. However, Akpabio emerged as the winner to beat his contender, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, both members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
