Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State wows many as he shows off his drumming skills in the company of his people.

The video surfaced hours after the Appeal Court reinstated him as the governor of the state while faulting the tribunal for making a decision which was based on an oral witness. In the video making rounds on social media, Governor Ademola Adeleke who is also known as the dancing Senator showed off his drumming skills. The clip has since stirred mixed reactions on social media; some praised him for his contagious happiness while others queried his role as a governor.

“I was beaten to stupor” — Chude opens up following release

Nnamdi Chude, an influencer who was arrested and held by the police at the Anambra State Criminal Investigation Department in Awka, shares his experience of being in custody for six days.

His detention followed a petition by Emeka Offor, an oil magnate and entrepreneur, who accused Chude of defaming his character. Chude was detained in various police facilities, including the CID in Awkuzu and the Force Criminal Investigation Department in Abuja, before being released on Friday. He confirmed that his arrest was due to a tweet he had made on March 13, which Offor had found offensive. Chude’s Experience Following Release “Some officers from the Anambra State cybersecurity police unit picked me up in Onitsha during the elections on Saturday, and drove me to the defunct Awkuzu SARS (now Anambra CID) in Awka. “Immediately we got to Awkuzu SARS, I was thrown out of the vehicle boot; the officers beat me to a stupor before an officer pleaded on my behalf. The officer told them that he was informed that my case was a civil matter and not a criminal one. So, I was left alone, before the officer who pleaded on my behalf offered me a space to sleep at the counter instead of the inhumane police cell. “The next day, I was covertly transported by road to Enugu airport, where I was flown here (FCID, Abuja). My back, arm and shoulders are strained and bruised as a result of being thrown out of the vehicle boot and the beating by police officers in Awka. “When I got here (FCID, Abuja) I was informed that my arrest was ordered by the IG following a petition written to the police by Emeka Offor alleging defamation of his character. According to the petition, which was shown to me by the police, Mr Offor claimed that I defamed him in my March 13 tweet where I wrote that Tinubu called him to beg (Peter) Obi to accept the election result. When I got here, they were asking me to provide evidence to back my tweet but I couldn’t. “However, I was supposed to have been released earlier on Wednesday after my lawyer perfected my bail condition, which required a Level 16 civil servant to stand as surety for my release, but I was later informed that an executive order came from the IG asking the FCID to detain me further. I was asked to apologise to Mr Offor and I have apologised to him over the tweet.”

Humphrey Anumudu, a candidate for the Labour Party governorship position in the upcoming primary election in Imo State, was found dead in his residence. The incident occurred in his Lagos home after he attended a meeting at the Labour Party headquarters in Abuja. According to a confidential source who spoke with The PUNCH, the car dealer passed away in Lagos on Friday evening, and his demise was unexpected. Humphrey Anumudu hailed from the Mbieri Ancient Kingdom in the Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State. He was a business mogul and politician, who had been vying for the governorship seat in Imo State since 1998 until his demise. He was considered a billionaire and had reportedly won the governorship primary election under the Peoples Democratic Party in the state that same year. However, he later lost the ticket to Achike Udenwa who served as governor from 1999 to 2007. Since then, Anumudu had continued to contest for the governorship position. In 2019, he ran as the gubernatorial candidate for the Zenith Labour Party. He was a respected legal expert and served as the CEO of Globe Motors until his passing.

Man arrested for impregnating 19-year old daughter, urged her to force it on boyfriend

Ogun State Police Command has arrested Abiodun Oladapo, a 43-year-old man, for allegedly impregnating his 19-year-old biological daughter and forcing her to claim that her boyfriend was responsible for the pregnancy.

The arrest followed a complaint by Oluwatoyin Idowu On March 24, who reported that her son was falsely accused of impregnating the victim. SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the state police command spokesperson, the victim, who is currently five months pregnant, confessed to the police that her father had been having sexual intercourse with her since February 2022 and threatened to harm her if she disclosed it to anyone. ‘’According to the victim, when it was discovered that she is pregnant, her father asked her to lie against Michael Idowu of being responsible for the pregnancy. Upon her confession, the DPO Mowe division, SP Folake Afeniforo detailed detectives to go after the randy father, and he was subsequently arrested. On interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime but blamed it on the devil. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect who had long separated with the victim’s mother took custody of the girl when her mother remarried and they have been living together since then.” Abimbola said The police spokesperson stated that CP Frank Mba, the state Commissioner of Police, has ordered the transfer of the suspect to the State Criminal Investigation Departments for additional investigation and potential prosecution.

Actress Gbemi Anjola dies following battle with cancer

33-year-old Nollywood rising actress, Gbemi Anjola has thrown the movie industry into a state of mourning following her untimely death. Gbemi had been battling ovarian cancer since 2021 and had undergone six months of chemotherapy in Dubai, UAE and after she returned to Nigeria following the declaration of being cancer-free. Unfortunately, on March 24, 2023, she was rushed to the hospital after experiencing memory loss and a headache; tragically, she died.

The colleagues of Gbemi Anjola, the likes of Itele and Zainab Balogun shared the news of her demise on their Instagram pages. Nollywood stars such as Nkechi Blessing, Kunle Afod, Biodun Okeowo, and others expressed their condolences in the comments section.

Popular stand-up comedian, AY Makun, addresses his long-term beef with his colleague, Basketmouth whom he accused of betraying him in 2006.

During an interview with the media personality, Chude Jideonwo, AY Makun stated that he was betrayed by his former colleague. He revealed that he once had a good relationship with Basketmouth whom he is grateful for bringing him to stardom. However, they parted ways after a business transaction in which he felt cheated. Speaking on their beef, AY said; “In 2006, (Basketmouth) usually will get gigs Iike weddings- multiple gigs on a Saturday, maybe 2/3 weddings.
