“Let 2023 be the last time of lgbo interference in Lagos politics” – APC chieftain, Bayo Onanuga

APC chieftain, Bayo Onanuga has given a remark that the Igbo should not “interference in Lagos politics“ any longer.

Bayo Onanuga

Bayo Onanuga took to his official Twitter account, where he made his remark known. According to him, the Igbo should learn to mind their business and that 2023 should be the last time that they interfere in Lagos politics. This comment trailed the notion, “Lagos is no man’s land”, a statement that appears to have triggered many. He further states that Lagos is a state in Yoruba land and as such, should not be tagged “no man’s land”, as it is a state just like every other in Nigeria. Bayo wrote in a tweet: “Let 2023 be the last time of lgbo interference in Lagos politics. Let there be no repeat in 2027. Lagos is like Anambra, Imo, any Nigerian state. It is not No Man’s Land, not Federal Capital Territory. It is Yoruba land. Mind your business.” See the post below;

“Typical of bad losers” — APC ridicules GRV for saying ‘Lagos will catch fire’

Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour GRV

In response to alleged threats made by the Labour Party’s governorship flag-bearer, Mr. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour (GRV), during Saturday’s election, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has criticized his lack of sportsmanship. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour GRV During the gubernatorial elections, GRV had alleged that a party member of his was shot and killed. He called out APC and INEC to impose an order to avoid a reaction that may cause ‘Lagos to catch fire.’ According to a statement released on Saturday, the ruling party’s Publicity Secretary in the state, Mr. Seye Oladejo, expressed that the APC had no justification for violence. “The attention of the APC has been drawn to a statement made by LP’s governorship candidate Mr Gbadebo Chinedu Rhodes-Vivour on Saturday’s elections. “He accused INEC and the police of `provoking Lagosians’ and warning that `if tonight Lagos State catches fire, it is not our fault’. He says `a lot of places are still under attack by thugs and hooligans of the APC. “This scaremongering is typical of bad losers who lack the spirit of sportsmanship,’’ Oladejo stated. “Should there be any breakdown of law and order in any part of our state, law enforcement agencies should know who to grab – Mr Rhodes-Vivour,’’ he added. “Now the LP candidate is playing the victim. This old trick won’t work; discerning Lagosians know they are all lies deployed to attract sympathy. “Our party has no need to be violent because we are sure of the glittering credentials of our governorship candidate, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu who will never be associated with violence. “We advise LP and its candidate to embrace peace instead of threatening to bring down the roof on everybody. It won’t work,’’ Oladejo stressed.

Femi Fani-Kayode, FFK takes to Twitter to boast about the outcome of the Lagos gubernatorial elections, held on the 18th of March, 2023.

The narrative, “Lagos is no man’s land” was pushed, following claims of Labour party Gubernatorial candidate, Ggbadebo Rhodes-Vivour being an Igbo man. Taking to Twitter, FFK mocked the alleged thuggery and intimidation reported all around Lagos polling units. He claims that the election was free and fair. Furthermore, he insists that “those that believed that Lagos is a “no man’s land” have been roundly defeated, badly humiliated.”
