Nigerian dentist knocks UK-based countrymen over incessant complaints about life abroad

It is no news that since the ‘Japa‘ wave increased, Nigerians in the UK made it a routine to give feedback to their countrymen at home with unending complaints about high taxes, workload, lonely lifestyle, etc. A Nigerian dentist on Twitter, @tk_oso claps back at the ridiculousness of such feedback from the UK while emphasizing the need to embrace the privilege they have also. In his words; “The things you left in Nigeria, did you build them in a year? Why do you want your life to suddenly transform in one year of japa? If you see progress, be thankful and keep pushing cos you’ll soon break through. Some of the things UK people say makes me puke. You get here and suddenly things that were considered luxury in Nigeria become your daily reality. You get things you couldn’t dream of buying in Nigeria, but you’re pissed you don’t have 20 thousand pounds in your account 12 months after traveling. What happened to patience? You complain about working too much, but you forget to mention that you get paid for every extra minute you spend at work. You’ve suddenly forgotten how you spent 5 hours on the road going to work in Nigeria, or how you got called in to do overtime without extra pay. In your 12 months here, police hasn’t stopped you once, you’ve never heard sound of generator or constant blaring of horns. You have constant power and superb internet, eat whatever you want without breaking the bank. Anytime you feel ungrateful, remember why you left Nigeria. We know how bad things are back home, no one going through the wahala in Nigeria will take you serious when you complain. Don’t look for sympathy from people back home, your quality of life is considerably better, yes I said it. Form a community and lament amongst yourselves. Stop looking for Pele and ehyah from someone that’s not had light in two weeks. Thank you.” The things you left in Nigeria, did you build them in a year? “Bibbs deserved a life sentence for what she did to her child. She beat her countless times and seemed to care about as much about the death of her daughter as she did about the life of her daughter.” Forcht said.  Ogg however noted, “Our office stands up for all victims, but a baby is the most innocent of victims. We believed that a life sentence was appropriate for this brutal murder and a Harris County jury agreed.”
