Late Chadwick Boseman Boseman died of colon cancer in 2020, at the age of 43. The iconic actor made a global impact by bringing “Black Panther” to life in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and playing Black icons Jackie Robinson and James Brown on the silver screen. According to their official website, the Walk of Fame was first created by E.M. Stuart, volunteer president of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, in 1958. The Hollywood Walk of Fame honored another late icon this year at a ceremony unveiling the star for Tupac Shakur, who was officially chosen as an honoree in 2013. The rapper’s sister Sekyiwa “Set” Shakur accepted her brother’s award, while radio personality Big Boy emceed the event. Shakur received the Walk of Fame’s 2,758th star. Michelle Yeoh, Gwen Stefani, and Eugene Levy were also honoured with Walk of Fame stars
In addition to Boseman, who was described as a “beloved actor” during the Hollywood Walk of Fame’s live stream, other stars including newly-minted Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh, Andre Romell Young (“Dr. Dre”), Kerry Washington and Chris Pine were also part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame’s 2024 class. The Student Union Government (SUG) swung into action to reach a settlement between the duo which was successful and in return, both students received a pack of cereal and a pack of drinks.
