“I make over N25million every year as bus driver in UK” – Man reveals

Lincoln Bamfo, a Ghanaian resident in the United Kingdom, has revealed that he earns an annual income above £45,000 (N25.7 million) as a bus driver.

Bamfo revealed that he is a graduate of Accra Polytechnic and Accra Technical University (ATU) and was raised in Belgium before moving to London as an adult. He attributed his good fortune to the UK system that values the contributions of workers and allows him to pay for his education.

Bamfo emphasized that Ghanaian drivers receive inadequate training after obtaining their license, unlike in the UK, where he undergoes refresher courses or a week of training every five years. Watch the video below:

BRT driver faces 16-count charges over Lagos train accident

The Lagos State Ministry of Justice is set to press 16 charges of manslaughter and causing grievous bodily harm against Oluwaseun Osibanjo, the driver of the BRT bus that collided with a moving train in Lagos.

The tragic incident resulted in the deaths of six Lagos State Government staff and passengers of the train, while 96 others were injured to varying degrees. The collision occurred on March 9, when a staff bus collided with a train at the PWD railway crossing in Ikeja and the train dragged the bus and its passengers along the tracks until it came to a halt at Sogunle, a suburb of Ikeja. In a statement released on Friday by the Director of Public Affairs in the ministry, Grace Alo, the BRT driver is faced with 16-count charges. “Upon the receipt and review of the case file by the Department of Public Prosecution (DPP), a prima facie case of manslaughter and grievous bodily harm were disclosed against the driver of the Staff bus. “Accordingly, he is to be charged with 6 counts of manslaughter and 10 counts of grievous bodily harm. “Both offences are contrary to Sections 224 and 245 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015,” the statement read. According to the statement, charges will be promptly filed against the driver by the Office of the DPP. Nevertheless, his appearance before the Ikeja High Court for trial will be postponed until he has completely recovered from the severe injuries sustained during the accident.

Sanwo-Olu rejects N5m compensation to Uber driver tortured during EndSARS, takes case to appeal court

Lagos governor, Jide Sanwo-Olu, has rejected demands to compensate an Uber driver who was tortured during the EndSARS memorial. A Federal High Court in Lagos had on March 14, 2023 ordered the Lagos State Government to pay the sum of N5 Million as compensation to Adedotun Clement, an Uber driver who was severely tortured on October 20, 2021 at the Lekki Toll-Gate during the first EndSARS anniversary.

Clement was carrying a passenger to Lagos Mainland when he encountered a gridlock at the Lekki Toll-Gate during a protest to commemorate the first anniversary of EndSARS. He was tortured and pepper-sprayed by officers of the Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Agency and policemen. The attack on the Uber driver was captured on video and reported by television stations and newspapers, and attracted a nationwide condemnation. Human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, filed a lawsuit against the Lagos State Government and the Nigeria Police Force to seek redress. Following the judgment, Effiong wrote a letter Governor Sanwo-Olu on March 16, 2023 demanding compliance with the judgment. However, the governor refused to act on the demand. The Lagos State Government has now filed an appeal at the Court of Appeal in Lagos against the judgment. In a Notice of Appeal filed on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, but served on Friday, March 23, signed by Dr. Babajide Martins, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) in the Lagos State Ministry of Justice, the government said there was no evidence that the Uber driver was tortured.

The Managing Director of Nigerian Railway Corporation, Mr Fidet Okhiria, reveals what led to the accident involving a train and a BRT bus.

The accident which occurred in Ikeja area of the state claimed the lives of 6 persons and injured 79 others, according to governor Babjide Sanwo-Olu. Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria, Okhiria said: “According to the information I gathered at the scene of the incident, they said many cars stopped when they got to the level crossing while the Lagos State Staff Bus driver continued moving, which I don’t know why. Maybe the driver thought he could pass before the train got nearer to him. He could not pass, and then the train cr¥shed the bus. The train was coming from Ijoko to Iddo.”

Lady finds out once-rich friend work as a bus driver

A Nigerian lady has been left heartbroken after she found out her once-rich friend is now broke and works as a bus driver. The lady identified as Ngozi on Twitter has recounted her experience meeting her friend. Ngozi’s Tweet says he used to be rich and would often given her money during their NYSC. However, she was shocked to find out that he now works as a bus driver and is broke. She wonders what could have gone wrong with him between 2019 and 2023. She also adds that he was so ashamed following their encounter.

She noted: “It’s heartbreaking when u see ur frd who used to be rich and now a bus driver. What happened to him btw 2019-2023. I had to meet him, he was so ashamed. This guy used to dash me money then in nysc 20k, 30k . My night is ruined” See post below;

Driver crashes while trying to win N500K bet in Lekki

An overzealous driver crashes his car in Lekki while attempting to win a bet that involved flying over a fence with his vehicle.

The driver reportedly engaged in a bet with a group who dared him to drive his car across a short fence with a cash prize of N500K placed as bet. According to an eye witness, the incident happened at the Marwa bus stop in Eti-Osa LGA Lagos. The driver was said to have sped across the street after accepting the bet with the zeal of winning the money. Unfortunately, he was unable to jump over the fence and ended up with his car standing on its nose.

Nigerian woman cries out as husband dies while confronting driver

A woman identified as Mrs. Mabel Olorunfemi has revealed how her husband lost his life while confronting his eight-year-old daughter’s bus driver who molested her. According to her, her daughter usually follows the school bus and one day, she returned to lament over being assaulted by the driver.

She claimed that the bus driver drove her to his house after he had dropped every other person on the bus, and then molested her. Her furious father visited the school to confront the driver. During the confrontation, her father got angry and slapped the driver who in turn retaliated by pushing the man down which led to his death. The driver held my husband in the neck and then pushed him on his chest. My husband fell down and passed out. The driver fled the scene immediately. “We rushed my husband to the hospital and he was confirmed dead on arrival. Till now the driver has not been found and the school is doing business as usual. Kunle Afod escapes death, driver burnt

Nollywood actor Kunle Afod has expressed his gratitude to God after surviving a ghastly accident leaving his driver burnt.

The actor disclosed in a post on his Instagram page that the bus he boarded got burnt alongside the driver. He revealed that an elderly man who came to help also sustained several injuries. Kunle disclosed, however, that although there were no deaths recorded a lot of people suffered a severe degree of injuries from the fire. Kunle Afod wrote on his page; “Earlier today, a disaster tend to happen as my bus got burnt, the driver was brutally burnt by fire, and also an older man who intend to render assistance was equally burnt but special thanks to God Almighty that no life was claimed”

A bolt driver is no doubt happy after his girlfriend took a loan to buy him a car. This made the driver happy and has been heaping praises on his girlfriend for her kind gesture.
The story which was shared on Twitter by a writer identified as Abena, narrated that her bolt driver told her that his girlfriend of two years took a loan to buy him a car. Few weeks after his girlfriend took the loan she lost her job.
The driver who is elated at his girlfriend’s kind gesture took up teaching job and selling of perfumes inorder to raise money to help her pay back the loan.
His words,
“My Bolt driver says his GF of 2yrs took a loan to buy him the car, a few weeks before she lost her job. So he’s gone back to teaching, drives and sells perfumes in his car to help her back it back. He’s been praising her for more than 5 mins. I like that”.

A man has been left baffled after discovering that the driver who broke his car’s side mirror left a note with his contact detail.
According to the car owner, he had parked his car by the roadside because it had a minor issue.

On returning to take his car, he found that his side mirror had been broken. He was amazed to see that a piece of the mirror was attached along with a white note to the screen wiper.
He found that an apology has been scribbled on the note as well as the contact details of the driver who had broken his mirror.
The car owner marveled at this and expressed that maybe there truly is hope for Nigeria after all.
