"Wike terrorized us for eight years, won't be allowed to join our party" ― Rivers APC

The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has again rejected the immediate past governor of the state, Nyesom Wike from joining the party, accusing him of terrorizing it for eight years. According to Darlington Nwauju, who’s currently serving as the Publicity Secretary of the party, Wike can’t join the party due to the terror he unleashed on the party for eight years.

Immediate Past governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike He disclosed this in a statement he issued Monday, describing Wike as an enemy, hence wouldn’t be allowed to join the party. The statement reads partly: “The terror unleashed on our party members in the cause of his eight years of maximum rulership alone is enough evidence to confirm that Wike has no business with Rivers State APC. “Asking him to come and take over is asking an enemy to come and finish off his victims. “We are aware of his schemes to escape justice over the looting of the collective patrimony of Rivers people which is the major reason for his romancing top APC members. “For those who may be suffering from amnesia, a non-APC member cannot be a cheerleader for the entry of Wike into APC.” During the last presidential election, Wike had openly campaigned for President Bola Tinubu. Wike, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, dumped his party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, for Tinubu of the APC. Following Wike’s commitment to ensure that Tinubu won the presidential election, a chieftain of the APC and former Chief of Staff, Rivers State Government House, Chief Tony Okocha stated that Wike deserves to reap what he sowed in making President Bola Tinubu victorious in the 2023 presidential election. Okocha who was the Coordinator of the BAT-Vanguard, an acronym for the disbanded Bola Ahmed Tinubu Vanguard in the South-South said Wike has the right to join any party. Okocha stated, “We are noticing that some persons who abandoned Tinubu when Tinubu needed them most and voyaged outside the shores are now relying on their personal relationships one way or the other to begin to make some sense of entitlement. “That they are entitled to whatever. In the leadership of the Tinubu family in Rivers State, we are at peace 100 per cent with His Excellency, Barr Nyesom Wike, the immediate past Governor of Rivers State as our leader. “He who pays the Piper dictates the tune. When it was difficult, even when the national body could not oblige us with funds for the national rally here, the magic was done by somebody.” He also urged the former Rivers State Governor not to delay in joining the APC to reap from his efforts in seeing Tinubu as President. “Our demand is that nobody should rob Peter to pay Paul. Our own share of the booty given to us should be handed over to His Excellency Nyesom Wike. “We are confident that as soon as it gets to him, he knows those who worked for Tinubu, and it will get to us. “It is only natural, that is how it should go, ” he added.

Immediate past governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike He said, “We unequivocally dismiss any such rumour or sponsored story that Rivers APC had at any forum invited Wike to join our party none the least calling on Wike to take over leadership of a party he never campaigned for. We dare anyone to provide evidence of any campaigns where Wike openly campaigned for the APC. “The terror unleashed on our party members in cause of his eight years maximum rulership alone is enough evidence to confirm that Wike has no business with Rivers APC. Asking him to come and take over is asking an enemy to come and finish off his victims. “We are aware of his schemes to escape justice over the looting of the collective patrimony of Rivers people which is the major reason for his romancing top APC members. For those suffering from amnesia, a none APC member cannot be a cheerleader for the entry of Wike into APC. “Nobody can decree his membership of a political party through radio or newspaper publications. All vexatious attempts at distracting our party in Rivers State will keep failing. “APC Rivers has a legally recognized state office where all official businesses are conducted. We have a standard procedure for convening our meetings according to our party’s constitution. A village meeting or gathering cannot equate to a stakeholder’s meeting of APC in Rivers. “We, therefore, disassociate the leadership of our party from any so-called stakeholders meeting suggesting that our party be handed over to Mr Wike. “We warn blackmailers to desist from the shameless tradition of using the name of our party to curry favour from desperate politicians seeking relevance at the centre.” Recall that a chieftain of the APC and former Chief of Staff, Rivers State Government House, Chief Tony Okocha stated that the immediate past governor of the state deserves to reap what he sowed in making President Bola Tinubu victorious in the 2023 presidential election. Okocha stated this at a news briefing in Port Harcourt, while also declaring the party’s readiness to receive Wike if he decides to defect, emphasizing that the role Wike played in the emergence of Tinubu as Nigeria’s incumbent President cannot be overemphasised. Governor Wike requests refund on federal projects, Tinubu rejects obligation

The Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike, clarified that the reason Peter Obi, the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was due to certain politicians in the PDP attempting to maintain power in the North. Wike unapologetic as he reveals real reason Peter Obi left PDP During a courtesy visit by the National Executive Committee of Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo Worldwide at the Government House in Port Harcourt, Wike, who expressed his satisfaction with power shifting to the south, insisted that he did not work against Peter Obi during the 25th February 2023 presidential election. He further explained that he strongly advocated for a Southern president and that Obi’s decision to depart from the PDP occurred after Sule Lamido informed him that power would remain in the North in 2023. These remarks were conveyed by the governor’s media aide, Kelvin Ebiri. Wike on Why Peter Obi left PDP “I supported that power must come to the south. When Obi came here, I gave him all the logistics; vehicles, and other support and paid for the stadium, but some other persons applied and I refused. You should know me too well by now.” “Obi was running with us. I knew when Obi left. He was principled and he said he can’t stand it, people should say the truth. He went to see Sule Lamido in Jigawa, not in Dutse, but in a village that will take you more than four or five hours drive from Dutse the capital. “You know what he told Obi? He didn’t tell him that look, you came late and I have chosen somebody. He said it is the north that will produce the next president. That was how Obi left saying why is he wasting time. Ask him, that’s how he left PDP.” “And that was what I saw at the convention ground. Within minutes, knowing that I was going to win, your sons were all the ones who did everything and sabotaged me. I said ok, no problem. “But I still maintained that look, if you have taken the presidential candidate you can’t take chairmanship again, give us back the chairman and I still stand by that and if you don’t do that whatever you see you take.” Watch the video below …
